Pancit Bisaya or also known as bam-i is originated and famous among Bisaya people or people from the Visayas. But in the Philippines, pancit or any kind of noodles are very famous and a look forward dish every occasions here in the country. I have observed this from my wife and other Filipino friends in Thailand and especially when I got to live with my Filipino family here.

I always love to cook especially when my wife was still pregnant. Her and my favorite is the bam-i. And aside from humba this is my weekly dish to have.

Cooking pancit bisaya is not difficult. You just have to gather important ingredients like to two types of noodles being mixed together, the vermicelli and canton. And of course not to forget the meat that makes it tastier and also not to forget the vegetables on it.

First you need to saute the meat with onion and garlic. Make sure to cook the meat well.

Second add the carrots and water just enough for the noodles to get cook. Add seasoning and soy sauce.

Third add the noodles and let it be cooked. Make sure you don't over cook. Then simply add the vegetables with red bell pepper. Mix well and put the heat low or off to avoid over cook of the noodles.

Since this Filipino dish is almost always present in every occasion, I have a photo below to show you as an evidence (but I think no need for an evidence for every Filipinos here).😁

my wife and mama on mother's day

Aside from having this dish in special occasion, we also have this during ordinary days. Mama Betty is a good cook and she cooks very delicious pancit bisaya mixed with pork and chicken meat and broth.

Photo below is another kind of pancit. We call it pancit miki. This is slightly salty but there are few stores or manufacturer in the market make unsalted ones. We had this when we had our feeding activity last week. Mama was the one who cooked for every neighbor in our community.

We put it in a pack lunch with rice and chicken.
