Hello, kumusta Steemians! It's been a while since the last time I wrote and shared my day to day experiences here in Steemit. I missed it! I do. But then sometimes, I'd feel that feeling of not knowing where and how to start again. So here I am, trying my best to write something again, something that is dear to me.

For today, allow me to share the thing that keeps me busy these days aside from school. It's my little online business of well-loved dainty dresses. So I heard from my friends @kyrie1234 and @bisayakalog of this new contest that the community is initiating, that is to share about your livelihood that is made possible because of Steemit earnings. So come, let's go check my li'l dress shop!

In these times of pandemic, we have to find ways to help our families with the daily needs and expenses. Here in the Philippines, aside from depending on your monthly salary, it is also wise to start something no matter how little, may it be a small store, an online business, cooking and selling home-cooked dishes, snacks, baked goodies and more. Steemit has been very generous to me when I came back in early this year. It has given me opportunities where I could be of help to my family and to other people as well. With the money I saved from writing in the platform, I was able to invest in a little online store where I sell well-loved dainty dresses. When I was a little girl myself, owning a brand new dress or even a secondhand one is one of my greatest joys growing up.

One of the main goals of my clothing store is indeed to dress in style with Steemit. You don't have to spend too much to dress something nice, so the idea of selling well-loved dainty dresses. Ika nga: nasa nagdadala yan. Meaning, it's not how much the dress costs, it's how you wear it, how you carry yourself, the attitude, the character inside that dress.

For each dress, that would cost me around 100-150 pesos as capital or 0.29-0.43 SBD based on present value (1 SBD=350 pesos). I would check my supplier's page online and go over the different pictures of dresses, sizes, styles and prices. I would choose the dresses, have them delivered through a courier, since most of my suppliers are from the northern part of the country. I would wait for a week to two and when my dresses arrive, I would post them online so girls and women could choose based on the style, sizes and prices. They would comment: Mine to the dress they'd like to buy, I would pack their orders and I would deliver on weekends right at their doorsteps.

The dresses that I sell are not only stylish and unique but also affordable compared to those sold in department stores. It is also very convenient for them to buy online to escape the hassle of traffic going to the city, plus they won't have to take the risk exposing themselves to a large crowd. If they would ask for a picture of when worn, I could also model and wear the dresses for them to see its fitting, length and all.

Starting a business these days at the comfort of our homes is truly an advantage. You don't only help the family's income, but you could also spend time with family. It is always good to start small. Who knows one day, maybe one day, with passion, dedication, determination, hardwork and resourcefulness, your little business could grow into something like the next Target, the next H&M, the next Steemit Clothing Line!

As for my earnings and profit per item or dress, I would usually add up 50-100 pesos mark up or 0.14-0.29 SBD. And since I love seeing the happy faces and big smiles of girls and women when they own a new dress, they truly are my inspiration why I came up with the business. I think what makes people wear my dresses is because not only its affordable and stylish, but because it also is sustainable and nature friendly- why make new dresses when there are still a lot, like a LOT, beautiful, dainty well-loved dresses around.

And as part of my campaign, to give ripples of joy to these young ladies, I have came up with my project that I called: THE DRESS FOR EVERY GIRL PROJECT. This is my way of saying thank you to Steemit for the enormous change it has brought to my life and to the people around me. Making my way to dress in style with Steemit, I gave dresses to my students and some girls in the island. I just couldn't describe the happiness I see in their eyes when they wear their lovely dresses.

I invite my friends @jenesa @burgundy243 @monsiou to also share their entries here. Surely, that would be fun!

Thank you Steemit Philippines for giving me the opportunity to write and share my experiences here. Bye for now, see you around.

Always,
Rose

Amazing business, sharing is caring and you do that part. Hope your business will bloom more and more. If I was young, I only received gifts of hand me down dresses and I loved it so much. Abot Tenga Ang ngito ko habang sayaw hawak ang sisid ng damit. You put smiles to kids. God bless on your business.
