Since we're talking about livelihood or business here, I'd like to humbly share our current business in the hopes that readers will at the very least gain an understanding of how to start a business like this, as well as be inspired and determined to start their own business even during this pandemic.

It is an undeniable fact that remaining an ordinary employee will never make us wealthy or even financially secure. It is in starting a business that we have a better opportunity of realizing all of our dreams. What I mean is that if you want to be financially secure, you should start a business and work hard to grow it until you reach your desired monthly or annual income.

We started this small business before the pandemic starts. The idea was instilled by a friend who wanted to start a business here in the Philippines. So we started as partners in an unregistered contract of partnership.

The expansion was so fast that we were able to open outlets within Misamis Oriental. But I had a bad experience with this set up so I decided to separate and manage my own.

So the business is on the retail of yummy delicious and cheesy pizza. It is a franchise so we call it Rafael’s Pizza Buena Oro. Buena Oro is our place of residence.

The business is very simple and easy to manage. Although you need to have staff or salesclerks to man the business on a daily basis. Yes, we are open all week round and from around 8AM to basically till 11PM.

MARKETING STRATEGY

Upon commencement of the business, I did promote it first to family and friends over FB. I made introductions and invitations to buy our product on the very first day and it was successful. We were able to dispose of more than 200 boxes in just one day. I think a record-breaker in the history of Rafael’s Franchise all over Region 10.

Part of introducing our product to the public was creating an FB page and was able to generate sales through such a page. Actually, around 50% of our orders are coming from online. So how are we going to reach those customers who are located far from our place?

MAXIM DELIVERY SERVICE

So in order to reach out to customers who are located far from our place, we engaged the services of Maxim Delivery. They will be the ones to deliver ordered products online. So to cater to customers all over the City is no longer a problem, they can even deliver outside the City.

FOOD PANDA

We also applied to be part of FOOD PANDA, and were thrilled to be accepted. For some time now we are also serving customers via Food Panda. Like when a customer wanted to buy some pizzas and our store is already physically close they can still avail up to 11:30 PM.
