I am happy to participate in the contest Steemit Engagement Challenge S3:W1 - Which places in your hometown are little known but worth visiting? for this I would like to introduce about a yoga center and temple called Isha Yoga Center

Isha Yoga Center is located at the foot of the Velliangiri mountain range, one of the most beautiful places in South India. It is a powerful space for inner transformation. Stay here for some time and you can spend time on your inner development. The four great paths of yoga are presented here – Kriya Yoga, Gnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga. Thousands of people from different parts of the world visit here every year. Here is the idol of Adiyogi. The statue is 112 feet (34 m) tall. This statue is considered an iconic symbol in our town Coimbatore today.
And one more is Dhyanalingam, which is the highlight of Isha Yoga Centre. Dhyanalingam is a uniquely powerful form. Dhyanalingam offers everyone who comes within its sphere of power the opportunity to experience this life fully. In a way, Dhyanalingam can be said to be the guru that leads to salvation. Dhyanalingam is enshrined in a pillarless structure made of 2,50,000 bricks with a domed roof. Designed to provide deep meditation, the Dhyanalingam is powerful enough to stimulate one's spiritual quest.
The yoga center has various accommodation facilities and many yoga classes that require different duration like 3 days, 4 days, 7 days. we can choose the days as per our convenience. A complete sattvic meal will be served to the participants of these classes and those staying at the yoga center as guests. The Yoga Center provides an accessible environment for everyone to transition to a healthy lifestyle, journey towards a higher level of fulfillment, and reach their full potential.
There are also bullock carts here for convenient sightseeing of this yoga center which covers an area of about 200 acres and while can we could visit some remarkable temples.

Isha Yoga Center is located at the foothills of Velliangiri Hills, 30 km west of Coimbatore. A major industrial city in South India, Coimbatore is well connected by air, rail, and road routes. There are daily flights to Coimbatore from Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. There are train services to Coimbatore from all major cities of India. From Coimbatore to Isha Yoga Center, government buses and taxis are also available.
Every year Shivratri falls in the month of March and is celebrated as Mahashivaratri. The festival has been celebrated with enthusiasm for the past 25 years at the Isha Yoga Center. Also, every year in the month of October Navaratri pooja is celebrated with a lot of rituals and events, and also every month on the days of the full moon and new moon special pooja and events organizing here. one of the special events is the laser show, which describes the story of Adi yogi and the history of Lord Shiva.

We are very proud to have this yoga center, Adi yogi statue, and temple with such merit in our town. I must say it is really worth visiting and must visit at least once in a lifetime.

Yoga in South Africa is still not huge but you do get some yoga retreats all over the country.

All the best. One of the best places in Tamilnadu for lord Shiva and peaceful yoga center. Every year in Maha Shivaratri there is a big celebration on that night. I enjoyed it last year.

A lot of information a post, aside from the tourism of this place, there is also an ancestral story behind it,
I have never heard of the isha yoga center, it is interesting to know that yoga is done in this temple, input leaned that there are different types of yoga, thank for the knowledge
Many times I visited this place, it is such calm and useful for developing inner health, the lord shiva statues are unique and worth visiting. All the best!
Isha Yoga Center is a very beautiful place where one can find largest Adiyogi lord Shiva's statue and the best part of this center is people from every part of the world comes here to learn yoga and meditation under the supervision of Sadhguru.

Isha yoga center. Is so wonderful and beautiful it really worth visiting ,for sure I have heard of it but have never seen it but am happy to see it today

Yeah best time to visit is Maha Shivaratri day which comes at March month of every year
😳 this center is really cute and amazing 🤩, I Love the lightings and decorations on the status, although the status look very similar to the one I saw in a movie I watch when I was younger I guess the name of the movie should be little Krish or so.
