How many of you, had experienced back pain at least once in your life? If you had it once you will never forget it.
Majority of causes of pain is musculoskeletal and often we get it after some physical job, lifting, twisting or working in a position that strains your back musculature. Often after some rest or even after using anti-inflammatory ointments or tablets pain gets better within about a week.
Today I wanted to talk about other cause of pain and this is something that people should not stay at home but better to see your doctor.
Kidney stone is a condition that can remain silent for many years, initially stones are small and when they are located in kidney themselves they do not cause any trouble. Why people has stones? Urine has component called uric acid that are crystals that often in the level of it higher they get very sticky and form little stones that with time can get bigger.
The nature of kidney is to produce urine and sometimes stones can be washed with urine and starting passing through the tube that is connecting kidney and bladder. Normal diameter of the tube is 3-4 mm that is why the stones passing through scratch their way down.
We know that kidneys are on both side of spine, that is why kidney stone pain can imitate musculoskeletal pain. That is a reason why often people sick doctor later after all their pain killer fail to treat pain.
If you notice pain like passing glass along your back and when passing urine but also occasionally you can notice some blood in urine that should make you cautious and to make you see doctor earlier.
The other distinct feature of kidney stones is that once the stone passed into bladder pain immediately goes away like from magic hand.
