What do you understand by the Word "Environment"? |

This is defined as the surrounding or area where a particular number of living and non-living things lives. You can always find people, animals and plants in every environment and all these were created by God thousands of years ago. My environment is very large and I interact with alot of people I find useful in my environment. Our environment is our property and we have every right to take good care of it all the time.
How do our surroundings impact our well-being? |

Just like I said earlier, our environment is filled with people, plants and animals, our environment impact our well-being in both positive and negative way. In terms of Positivity, our environment gives us the opportunity to interact with cool and responsible people who help us in one way or the other. It contains plants which makes it possible for us to breathe in oxygen and we also get foods from these plants as well, there are so many trees in our environment.
In our environment there are animals which makes it possible for us to eat fresh meat and also get good milks from the cow and honey from the bees. In terms of Negativity, our environment is quite bad for us whenever we abuse alot of privilege, noise is always much in our environment and this is very bad because it harms the ear as well as the brain and another thing is refuse, people always throw waste products in open areas like the road.
What are some ways pollution, like air or water pollution, can affect our health? |

Air pollution is something I hate so much because it affects our health faster, bad vehicles are always driving in the streets of Nigeria and these vehicles always bring out exhaust which are burned gases and this is really harmful to our health.
Land pollution is another pollution that makes me very angry, I talked about disposing waste products on the road and I also want to talk about the ones cows cause, in my area I always see cow faeces on the road and they always remain there till they decay and this is bad.
Water pollution is dangerous as it causes cholera, this happens in mostly rural areas where you will see people washing clothes inside river and also passing out faeces in that river. This same people will still go ahead to drink water from this river.
What are some simple actions you take every day to promote environmental health? |

Here in Nigeria most of the gutters are very dirty and filled with alot of refuse and this is very bad, I dislike this so much. When there's dirty gutter, it gives mosquitoes the opportunity lay more eggs. Whenever I get the opportunity to clean the gutter in my neighborhood, I never hesitate to do this. I always use rake to remove the refuse inside the gutter. I also dispose these refuse in the right place whenever am done with my clean up. We need to keep our environment clean at all cost.
How can education and awareness play a role in promoting environmental health? |

These things can play a major role in promoting environmental health when we create a seminar for students and other people so that they can fully be aware of the dangers of living in an unhealthy environment. This is one of the main reasons why we learn Social studies in primary and secondary schools as social studies is the study of man and his environment.
We can create awareness by working together in the streets by cleaning the environment and picking refuse, so that people who are ignorant of this can really understand and know more about this cleanup. Corpers in Nigeria most do such things as they always clean the environment together and people always watch in amazement and learn something in such act.

Yes you are right. If refused are much in the gutter, they will cause alot of damage and this will affect the environment.
