Greetings friends

I believe we've had the opportunity to see an accident even though we haven't experience one ourselves, or at least heard of the concept, Surgery.
Therefore, in this week's engagement topic, I will be discussing on surgery and our experience with surgery.

Tell us what surgery have you or a family member or friends performed and why?

First, surgery is a medical procedure that often involves cutting into the body to treat injuries, ailments, and irregularities in the body by the physical expulsion, restoration, or readjustment of organs and tissues.

With that in mind, I would say as a boy or man, we've all been through surgery (circumsion) as long as we've been circumcised. However, the only surgery I know of that was performed on any member of my family was performed on my uncle's wife. It was an operational procedure known as a C-section (cesarean delivery) operation, popularly known as CS in this part of the world.

A C-section (cesarean delivery) surgery is a surgical operation utilised to deliver a baby when a normal (vaginal) delivery process is difficult or can not be accomplished safely. Hence, the baby is delivered via incisions in the mother’s abdomen and uterus.

Do you consider surgery the solution to a health problem?

The use of surgical procedures in this part of the world is often considered the last resort as it is considered expensive and horrifying, hence, it is only called upon when it's a necessity I.e. when it's a life-threatening situation.

However, Surgery is a fundamental part of healthcare as it plays a significant part in the treatment and prevention of diseases. In both cases, surgery plays a vital role in ensuring proper recovery.

Therefore, yes I consider surgery to be an important part of healthcare even though it is not always the solution as not all ailments and diseases require surgery.

Have you or a family member or friends suffered an accident that required sutures? Tell us how was it.

Stitches (Sutures) are used to treat serious cuts and/or incisions from surgery, it is to hold the tissues together while they heal. The aim is to prevent infections from penetrating the body by piecing together the cut edges so that skin and other tissues can fuse back together.

Hence, looking at my body, I do not have any sutures, as I've not been into any accident that required stitching me up. But, in my family yes, My elder sister.

I didn't know for a fact what the accident was that made her require sutures as we grew up far apart from each other but there is a relatively big scar on her right thigh with needle marks and all. I am guessing it was fairly a painful experience even as she said aesthetics were administered.

When these events exist, which health centre do you go to, or simply go to the home remedies, tell us which one you go to

When such events such accidents occur, the best thing to do is to administer first aid if possible, then locate the nearest Hospital, as the best place to go is the hospital. The hospital not only has the equipment to manage such cases but also the certified personnel to carry out all the needed procedures.

Therefore, going to the hospital is the best unless it is a case not so serious where home remedies, such as the first aid kit can handle it effectively, then home remedies can be applied to cut expenses, else, hospitals remain the best and safer option.

CONCLUSION

Nobody yearns for surgery or injury, but in some situations, the best treatment is surgery and you don't need to be afraid as it's on qualified personnel that carries out surgery even though it can be difficult sometimes.

Dear Friend,

Your post is very nicely presented. Correctly answered the questions mentioned in the competition. Your uncle's wife in your family has undergone surgery. Although it is a caesarean operation. Anyway thanks for sharing with us about this surgery. Your sister had stitches due to an accident. This is very sad. Although you know nothing about the accident. Anyway, I wish you all the best.

Best Regards: @zubaer
