Hello everyone!
Week 2 has started and there are another set of amazing contests this week. This community has also organized such an interesting topic this week which is about Social Media.

What is “social media” in your life, and how many hours a day do you spend on it?


Everyone uses Social Media and These platforms are Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat and many more. These social media platforms play an important role in everyone's life.

Social Media has made our life easy in some way. We can communicate with anyone at anytime. We can share information to anyone within a second.

But These can also waste our lot of time if we spend a lot of time using it. In my life, Facebook, WhatsApp, Youtube and Instagram are the major social media platforms which I use.

Other than these, I also use Snapchat and Twitter but not a lot. When I wake up in the morning, then the first thing I do is to check my social media accounts like what message I have recieved or what status have people posted.

I spend around 4 to 5 hours on Social Media daily. I know it's is very much and I need to reduce it as spending so much time on it can have risk.

Name five ways social media can have a negative impact on your life and that of your loved ones.


Well, Social Media has many benefits but It can also have a negative impact in our life. Let me share some negative impacts of social media accounts.

  • The very first negative impact will be addiction of Social Media. Now, We can enjoy by watching reels, funny and entertaining videos on social media which hold it's users for a long time and as a result, We continuously use social media and spend a lot of time using it which becomes addiction.

  • Social Media Platforms has access to our personal data, personal information and It also has access to our location, camera and microphone which is a threat to our privacy and our personal information can be misused.

  • The cases of cyberbullying is increasing day by day just because of these social media platforms and Many users also do online fraud with the help of these social media accounts.

  • These Platforms are badly affecting our health. As We all know that spending so much on social media can affect our eyes. And Health is a major issue and We should not ignore it.
  • Due to these platforms, Most of the people has stopped meeting their loved ones face to face as We can chat online through these social media platforms.

If you had to implement 5 rules to make sure that social media became HEALTHIER in your environment, what would they be?


We can implement some rules to make sure that social media will become healthier in our environment and It has many benefits.

  • We should spend less time on it like when we are in need of using it, then only we should use it like if we have to send some important message to anyone, then we can use it.

  • We should not see any negative content on Social media as A lot of negative content is spreading on these platforms which are affecting the mind of people.

  • There are many benefits of Social media like I uses YouTube to take lectures of any topic which I want to study as there are lot of educational content on YouTube. So, We can use it for our benefits instead of wasting out time on it.

  • We should not post all our personal data and information on it as sometime, It also can be misused.

  • We should take benefits from these Social media like We can reach a larger audience through these platforms and We can connect to lot of people.

The addiction to social media is one thing I have tried and has succeeded in eliminating...... I also spend time on the social media but not to the extent of abandoning my personal activities, work and sleep as well. ...
Cyber bulling has been the order of the day in most countries with young people using the means of social media platform like Facebook, Instagram Twitter X to defraud people of their hard earned money making them people fall into the State of mental unhealthiness. At time, the people are the cause of been defrauded sometimes by replying to every message you see and finding freebies...

On the case of making the environment a healthy place to live again by still using social media, the problem of viewing bad contents are more common on Young kids who are not entitled to own a device.

Using the platforms to meet valuable things and people/audience is a nice go!
