INTRODUCTION
Traditional medicine in Nigeria holds useful knowledge and wisdom that should be highly respected and preserved. Though modern medicine has its own value, ancient practices provide support to healing that connects the body, mind, and spirit. It will be good if we honor the traditions of our ancestors and learn from the natural remedies that have been passed down years by years.
👩⚕️ In your country, ¿what type of ancient medicine did they perform?
I am from Nigeria and we practiced ancient medicine even till date, In my country ancient medicine has been in practiced from generation to generation, it is been practiced by so many ethnic groups all over the country. There is this common type of ancient medicine that was been performed which is the herbal medicine. This herbal medicine its involve the use of plants and plant extracts to treat various sickness and diseases.
👩⚕️ ¿Can you give your honest opinion according to your beliefs? (your point of view is valuable to us)
Some years back, traditional healers in my country used different types of herbs, such as roots, and leaves to create remedies for different types of health conditions. Let's take for an example the bitter leaf, this was commonly used to treat fever and stomach issues and up till now people are still using it, I have a friend that her beliefs is in traditional medicine, she has not taken drugs before, she even trained her children not to take drugs too, the moringa leaves are used to boost energy and also strengthen the immune system, and because of this, all almost all the street in Nigeria, you will see moringa trees. Another thing is that in different parts of the African pepper plant are used for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
👩⚕️ ¿Can you describe some elements they used at the time? What was the special use of each one?
Traditional healers also make use of some elements such as animal parts, minerals, and spiritual rituals when ever they want to perform their rituals. For instance, those days the was believe that once they use animal bones and horns that the patient will be heal and protected. Additionally, some minerals such as clay and salt were also used in rituals to cleanse the body and soul.
👩⚕️ Design a scenario about ''Ancient medicine''
In a scenario of ancient medicine in Nigeria, there is a particular traditional healer ufon frank, he was my grandfather and he was also blind but he knows all the traditional medicine to to cure any form of illness, there is this young woman that consulted him, she has been having headache and fatigue for years and it causing a lot pains for her, my grandfather gathers herbs and plants from his farm, and in the herbs ginger, turmeric, and neem leaves were involved. My grandfather prepares a special potion using all those ingredients and performs a spiritual ritual to invoke healing energies.
The woman drank the potion and she also did the ritual, after doing the rituals, she start feeling a sense of calm and relief washing over her. After some days of following what my grandfather instructions the headaches subside, and her energy levels improve very well. She was so grateful for the healing powers of ancient Nigerian medicine.

This ancient treatment had no scientific basis but the leaves of this plant had no side effects and did not cause any problems. Even though your grandfather was blind, he knew herbal remedies.
