A caregiver is a person who attends those who are dependent on others to fulfill their basic needs. These may be social or health base prerequisites. The role of caregiver is crucial because it directly affects the vulnerable.

👩‍⚕️Have you played the role of caregiver or do you know someone who has put it into practice? Tell us about it.

One of my father's side aunt is a very expert caregiver. She has been doing this for many years. She takes care of family, friends, relatives, neighbors and miserables of her small town. She is always passionate about her work as a caregiver.

I watched her from my childhood to go to the hospital with many people for check up, for operations, for regular tests, for counseling. She is a very experienced at her job. She precisely regulates diet plans and is a very impressive motivational speaker. She believes that along with medicine, will power plays a key role in recovering. She provides her services without any charges.

👩‍⚕️ Do you think that caring for a sick person should be a team effort or the work of a single person?

I think caregiving is a service by team work. Every home has limited capability, and caregiving is a very prolonged herculean process many times. So to maintain the quality of service and to boost up the stamina team work is the best method.

👩‍⚕️ What qualities do you think a caregiver should have?

In my opinion, a caregiver must know thoroughly about all the essential precautions, medicines and relevant aspects so that he can perform duties very well

Patience is also important because without this no one can do this exotic duty. Empathy is another factor which influences the quality of work. Sometimes the dependent can't explain what exactly feels. But with empathic behavior, the caregiver can better connect with others.

👩‍⚕️ What advice would you give to a person who is performing this role?

For me, caregivers must be kind. A person suffering from illness is already in pain, and because of which mental stress level also increases. So when attendent is also a nasty person, it drop down the positivity in behavior of patient. Kindness is key to handling stressed situation.
