SEC-S13 / W6 | "🗣️ Me and My Senses 🧿"

Hello to all in this amazing and wonderful Healthy Steem Community what a great pleasure and privilege to be here again creating content related to health. This day by the grace of the Lord Jesus, I'd be sharing with you all my entry into this contest which has as title ME AND MY SENSES. I'll be creating this post by answering the guiding questions set by the community. I hope you'll be blessed as you read through!

By definition, A sense is a system which an organism uses for sensation and to gather information through what we call in biology a stimulus. ^source The senses are so very much important to the human being because without them, you're cut off from interacting with other people. And while studying biology in primary school, our teacher always told us that there are 5 senses.

Most people have more than 2 senses but there are some impairments in people's senses which can make them not have all the 5 senses. I thank God almighty that I do have all the 5 senses. The 5 senses are as follows ; sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. Let's delve deeper into them.

1. Sense of Sight: This is the sense works with the part of the body called the eye. It is with thee eye I differentiate colours and know the light intensity and also identify persons clearly. Without the eyes, everywhere will be dark and there won't be such a thing like looking before leaping😅.

2. Sense of Smell: Oh this sense makes a lot of sense, lol! It is linked to the part of the body called the nose. It is with this one I can perceive the aroma of the environment. While the eyes works with light, this one works with odours. No matter how pungent the item is, the nose can pick the odour without any stress.

3. Sense of Sound : This sense is associated with the ears and it functions with sound waves and vibrations. It is with this sense that I can understand and differentiate voices and different other forms of sounds. Infact without this one, music will make no sense at all.

4. Sense of Taste: This sense is closely associated to the tongue in the mouth. With this I can identify how anything tastes like whether it is bitter, sour, sweet or pale. The tongue does aarvelous job in the kitchen. With this one, you bring into réalisation what the nose perceived.

1. Sense of Touch: This sense is closely related to the body or the skin as I may say. This sense iss very vital as it functions in detecting danger and emotions most times. If you touch something hot, the body immediately moves back. And also it has to do a lot with romance. This sense brings into crystalization what the eye had seen.

Among all these senses, I would say that the sense of Sight is what I prefer the most. This is because I have used my eyes to behold many things which my hands couldn't have the luxury touch and feel. And also the eye is so delicate that if you neglect it once, you'll have difficulties to differentiate and know how things look like.

I can just imagine how blind people do, it must be very strenuous, I wouldn't have had the luxury of even being on a social media to see pictures and relate with the beautiful posts you all post on steemit.

Personally, I don't think that certain senses are more important than others. I will explain it very plainly, you see thee way God created the senses makes us understand that one sense without the other makes it very difficult for the human to enjoy the full experience of being a human being. For example, a blind man can touch and feel and even hear about something being yellow, but he will never experience that if he was born blind. The same with a deaf person who can't hear but can see, the beautiful experience of recognizing a voice when he calls won't be there.

Just imagine now! When you close your eyes and someone calls your name, you're easily able to I dentify that voice and put a face to it immediately, but that's not the case for someone who can't even hear. So I believe that each sense walks hand in glove to make the human being enjoy this wonderful experience.

If I had the possibility of such, sincerely it is the sense of hearing and interpretation of people's thoughts and hearts. You know the bible says something about the heart of men. He says that the hearts of men are desperately wicked, and who can know it? Most times we are deceived by what we see, hear, feel, taste and even smell because so etching can look good but is bad.

So if it was possible to probe the hearts of man and know what exactly the people around me are thinking about me per time, then i would proudly go for it. I was once deceived by a phones dealer because everything about a phone was good and sound, it looks great but I never knew that the vendor had ulterior motives to scam me and give me a fake phone. So I would really like not to be deceived by looks anymore.

Ohh our senses influence our perceptions so greatly. I explained earlierr how I was duped by a phone vendor because my senses were I'd say limited by the natural. Our senses influence our perception of the world around us in many ways. We see for example a colour blind person who doesn't know how to differentiate colours well will see a blue stuff and say it is green. Just imagine if your national flag is made up of Blue like that of the USA😅. You'll be saying everywhere that your flag is green with stars on it.

That already hinders how you perceive stuff because if your senses. Our senses are very important in our lives and the way you perceived a particular soup for example and it was too salty, if another person cooks that same soup with less salt, because of the first experience you'll have that perception that this soup is still salty. Our senses play a lot in our perception of the world around us.

Our senses play a major role in our lives and it is very important that we take care with our senses. A wrong perception of any of the senses will give us a wrong impression of the thing. it is important we guide these senses and not allow anything to disrupt or spoil them.
