Hello, healthy friends. Welcome to my blog today. I guess we are doing well. This week's topic on ancient medicine is all about reawakening our native beliefs, which have long gone, and some of them we can still see sparingly practised.

👩⚕️ In your country, ¿what type of ancient medicine did they perform?

In my country, there are diverse native or ancient medicine used and performed those days, and some of them are still in use. These were the backbone of medicine and general treatment in my country those era.

We could presently see some women carrying cans of mixed herbs popularly called AGBO on them, moving from place to place. But, you know what, these native medicines are being patronised even by the illetrare as they believe it works like magic.

One thing so amazing about these type of medicines is that they worked for our forefathers and represented their only source of treatment. When these first stage doesn't clear the ailment, this is were they visit the native doctor who applies a more superior treatment and possibly charm on the person to get him healed.

👩⚕️ ¿Can you give your honest opinion according to your beliefs? (your point of view is valuable to us)

Personally, my honest opinion on this is of diverse acceptance. In as much i do not buy into believing such wouldnwork for me maybe due how crued they look or something, it has also worked for otherts I know around. They drink of these concussions and give testimonies of its potency in their bodies.

But my most reservations on this are the fact that there is no clear dosage consumption of this substance. Since it is potent enough to cure some alilment, i believe over consumption is a challenge.

What about the consumption of this substance when we dont even know the concentration of the different volume of substances used. It scares me after all these considerations. Despite its efficacy, I still have my reservations.

👩⚕️ ¿Can you describe some elements they used at the time? What was the special use of each one?

The Neem Leaf:
This is a leaf that has been publicly known for its efficacy in curing some level of fever relating to malaria treatment. It is locally called "dogo-yaro" leaf, which comes with a bitter taste. It has been said to work very well when taken alone and also in combination with other leaves

The Lemon Grass:
Another great leaf used by our forefathers and still in use. It is another anti-oxidant plant that, when also combined with the neem leaf, helps boost its efficacy.

Lemon or Lime:
I wouldn't know why this is always used, but i do know that it is an acidic fruit, but when consumed, the body has its way of converting it to alkaline.

👩⚕️ Design a scenario about ' Ancient medicine''

For the ones I've seen them carry along, which are the learnings of the ancient people, they are mostly grinded and kept in the bottle. Before these leaves are grinded, they are dried to allow for linger presevation and use. All they needed to do is to mix appropriately with water and give their patients.

Secondly is that there are roots and herbs that need to be soaked to allow for extraction of its nutrients that does it healing when consumed. When they are soaked in water or gins( alcoholics), it extracts all the nutrients of the herbs, which in turn are dispensed in shots and administered.

Others are just soluble solutions. They are mixed in water and stired more adequate mixing. These different forms are the little I've seen these native medicines followed.

They drink of these concussions and give testimonies of its potency in their bodies.

Oh yeah, I've heard people sharing stories about how these traditional medicines worked wonders for them. It reminds me of a time when my grandmother used a homemade remedy to cure a cold. Even though I was skeptical at first, it actually helped me feel better. So, I guess sometimes these remedies can surprise you with their effectiveness.

Since it is potent enough to cure some ailment, I believe over consumption is a challenge.

I think you're right about that. It's like with any medicine, too much of it can sometimes cause more harm than good. I remember once when I took too much of a painkiller, and it made me feel really sick. So, even though these traditional medicines might work, it's important to be careful with how much you use them.

Others are just soluble solutions. They are mixed in water and stirred for more adequate mixing.

Mixing medicines into water seems like a common practice. I've seen my mom do that with some over-the-counter remedies. It's like they want to make sure the medicine is evenly distributed so that it works properly. It's interesting how some traditions are similar across different cultures when it comes to medicine.

All the best .

Traditional medicine has done wonders in the ancient days and still doing so now, the dosage of administration needs to be considered to avoid negative effects. Goodluck

The efficacy of African traditional medicine cannot be overrated. Like you've stated, the problem is always the measurements to which one can take it.

I have seen people who get healed by these medicine after several trial of modern medicine. My advice, is just taking with courteousness to avoid complication.

Thank you for the invitation, best wishes.

It's truly amazing to think about how these types of medicines have been effective for our forefathers and served as their primary form of treatment. When the initial remedies didn't completely clear the ailment, they would turn to the native doctor who would provide a more advanced treatment, possibly even incorporating charms to aid in the healing process. It's incredible to see how our ancestors relied on a combination of natural remedies and the expertise of these skilled healers to address their health concerns.
