Greeting to my fellow Steemit friend in this community. I wish you all a happy new week. Am glad to present my entry on the week #4 engagement challenge with a wonderful topic "The Role of the Caregiver ♥️ " . Read through as I share my view.

👩‍⚕️ Have you play the role of caregiver or do you know someone who has put it into practice? Tell us about it.

Yes, I know someone who has put the role of a caregiver into practice before, my mother. In 2019, my grandmother that live with us fell stroke till 2020 during the lock down (pandemic). Throughout the period of one year plus, my mom play the role of a caregiver in the life of my grandma our mother by making sure she is alright all the time.

She supported her, care for her, show her love that she needed at that period. Though it was not easy but she try her very best by taking good care of her mother.

👩‍⚕️ Do you think that caring for a sick person should be a team effort or the work of a single person?

Caring for a sick person definitely should be a team work. The work is not an easy task so it shouldn't be for a single person only. I can remember year 2019 when my grandma fell stroke. It wasn't easy with my mother taken care of her family and her mother because my grandma live with us and because of that, other of my aunt didn't show any concern living the whole role for my mom to play.

Sometimes I feel pity for my mom by assisting her in a little way I could. Most times she didn't even have time to rest. It takes the real love for someone to care for the sick because sometimes, you have to let go of your happiness in order to pleased the sick person. From cooking, cleaning up the person and the house, feeling and the rest in not something to be done by a single person because that person can break down at any point. In essence, caring for the sick should be a team work and not for a single person.

👩‍⚕️ What qualities do you think a caregiver should have?

In my opinion, I think the caregiver should posses many qualities in order to achieve a successful health care .

  • Caregivers should be a person who is not a hot temper.

  • Should be a discipline person that has the ability to endure, be patience, love, listen, accept and many more.

  • A caregiver should be someone who is very neat in order to care for the sick person, the house, environment.

  • Should know how to cook very well and should have an idea of a nutritionist in order to know the type of meal to be given to the sick person depending in the illness.

  • Caregiver should know how to communicate very well.

  • Caregiver should be a time conscious person, to know the time for food, medicine, walk out, fun activities to make the person happy etc.

  • Caregiver Should be someone that has passionate to another.

  • A caregiver should always be available at any given time.

👩‍⚕️ What advice would you give to a person who is performing this role?

Honestly, taking a responsibility of a caregiver is not an easy thing. My humble advice to a caregiver, be it a professional or not is that, he/ she should make sure,he doesn't render care on it own a lone but should also involve a medical personnel who will be visiting the patient or sick person once a while to check the health state and prescribe drugs to stabilize the sickness.

The caregiver should also make sure the sick person is taking to an health facility once a while for check-up. He should be patience in everything, show genuine love and should easily understand the body language of the sick person by knowing what he wants on a particular time, when he get upset etc, the caregiver should have the ability to endure.

In conclusion Caring for someone is a unique thing to do. Whether is a sick person or not. Show love, support, care, kindness and compassion to one another. I will love @saintkelvin17, @manuelhooks and @bossj23 to participate.

Your account of your mother's dedication to caring for your grandmother during her illness is touching, you correctly emphasize that caregiving should be a team effort, involving various qualities and patience.

The caregiver should also make sure the sick person is taking to an health facility once a while for check-up. He should be patience in everything, show genuine love and should easily understand the body language of the sick person by knowing what he wants on a particular time, when he get upset etc, the caregiver should have the ability to endure.

Aged people or people who are above the age of 60 should be taken to a clinic or health center once in awhile as there could be possibilities of high or low blood pressure, increase in surger level, and other health problems.
Thank you for sharing.

Indeed caregiving is a team work and should be done as a team to ease the stress of the individual involved in care givings. I must say your mum really is gifted in care giving, for her to take care of your granny for over a year plus. That is really iconic! I also applaud your effort by supporting her in care giving too. Success in the contest and may the best contestant win the challenge.

Hola

Saludos
