Hello lovely people! Hope we are good!!! Let me share the little I know about kidney with you today🤗. Special thanks to @khursheedanwar for this contest.

KIDNEYS! WHAT ARE THEY?

Kidneys are very important organs in the body that is located at the lower back and has the shape of two beans facing each other. They are responsible for filtering waste and producing hormones which maintains our overall health.

IMPORTANCE OF KIDNEYS

Kidneys play vital roles in our body and these roles includes;

1. They are responsible for the production of red blood cells. You can imagine the importance red blood in your body.

2. They are the organs that controls the removal of urea and seperate excess fluids from the blood. Without kidneys how would we be urinating?

3. Without kidneys we may have issues of dehydration or even overhydration so they stand in the gap of making sure we have just the right amount of fluids in our body.

4. Did you know that high blood pressure is a sign of kidney problem? Yes it it because the kidney produces renin which regulate blood pressure but when they are not producing this enzyme, our blood pressure will not be in check which results in "high or low blood pressure"

5. The kidneys are also responsible for boosting and regulating vitamin D which is esesntial for our bones' health and other essential minerals in the money.

STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONS OF KIDNEY

The following are the major structure of the kidney and their functions;

1. The Ureter is the part that transports urine to the bladder for us to pee.

2. The Nephrons consists of the filteration units which removes waste and excess substance from the blood.

3. The Renal Pelvis does the action of collecting urine from different channels to the ureter.

4. The Medulla controls the flow of urine from the collecting ducts to the pelvis.

5. The cortex is the parts where the blood filtering begins. It is filteration units of the kidney.

MY ADVICE

Prevention is better than cure so take good care of yourself to avoid having a failed organ. Stay hydrated and eat a balanced diet. Avoid excessive drinking if alcohol and quit smoking. Finally, please engage in regular exercise.
