SEC-S13/W4| "The Role of the Caregiver ♥️ "
Greetings beautiful and amazing steemians. My warm regards and wishing you well. I want to thank all the MODs and the admins of this amazing community for job well done in carrying us all along and ensue the growth and togetherness of this community.
Am glad to be here once again to participate in this beautiful Steemit Engagement challenge for the week. Am going to be writing with the tips given to us. Let’s take the ride and welcome onboard.
Have you played the role of caregiver or do you know someone who has put it into practice? Tell us about it. |

I will first define a care giver in my own words as someone who provides support to a sick person either on a short term or long term basis because the person is not able to take care of his or herself at the moment. The care giver helps the sick person onto carry out his daily living.
I’ve not played the role of a care giver but I know of a friend who has. The friend had a grandmother who was bedridden and unable to take care of herself. He had to assume the role of a care giver to help the grand mum in taking care of her daily needs. He would bath her, assist her to use the toile, change her clothings, wash them when she messes them up and also feed her and help her take her medication.
Do you think that caring for a sick person should be a team effort or the work of a single person? |

Caring for the sick sometimes can be a very tedious work. It’s not something a single person would have to handle alone. There are so many things to be done for the sick that it’s actually wise that a team be involved in taking care of the sick to ensure efficiency and easy help.
What qualities do you think a caregiver should have? |

| The work of the care giver can be very demanding hence I think that the care giver should have some certain qualities which includes: |

The care giver must above all be patient. The sick person may suppose certain difficulties to the care giver therefore she must be patient with the sick.
The care given must be taught effectively communication skills to be able to relate to the person receiving the care.
The care giver must be careful and not a careless person. He or she must know to pay attention to details especially in the area of administering medications.
The care giver should be dependable, trust worth and having a touch of professionalism and above all must be compassionate. He should be able to empathize with the situation of the sick person and etc.
What advice would you give to a person who is performing this role |

- Learn to take some break and rest
- Should be bold to ask for help if needed
- To ensure that he or she eats food that are nutritious to sustain their energy level and
- Get some exercise to be fit.

You have a great friend she is a caregiver indeed for her to assume the role and take care of her sick loved one at that time. You also made great points that a care giver us best as a team work as it's not easy to assume the role alone. I love the fact that you advised caregivers to perform regular activities such as feeding well and soliciting for help when needed to perform their duties with maximum efficiency. Success in the challenge and may the best contestant win the challenge.

It's true what you said about a caregiver the person must be taught about communication skills patience and tolerant if you have this you can overcome the habita of the patients and of course a caregiver should be bold enough to ask for help if he or her strength is running out best of luck dear friend.
