The intravenous and intramuscular have different functions, however, for relief of pains, I'll prefer intramuscular as there would be no need to first seek a vein.
I remember taking my younger sister to the hospital one time she ran temperature and she was shaking, when the nurses took her, before checking her vitals they said she had to be stabilized a bit, they tried to inject her on her but, the first one burst cause she was very hot and then a few minutes after the injection she got so calm. Trying to find her vein would have been a very stressful process.
Intravenous and intramuscular injections serve different purposes. But when it comes to pain relief, I understand why you prefer intramuscular injections. With intramuscular injections, there's no need to find a vein first, which can make the process easier and more convenient. It's great that you have a preference based on your own comfort and experience.
