Wishing everyone a good day and my best wishes to all. The reason I'm here today is to participate in📣 “ Choices! What will it be? #41”. Steem For Ladies Community and Madam @patjewell for arranging such an amazing contest. These types of contests help us to participate in new challenges and represent our creativity. Among the five topics, I choose the third one Snack.

SNACK

Snack refer to a small portion of foods that we have taken between our regular meals. They are light, easy to eat, and take a minimum of time to make it. It helps us to satisfy our hunger between main meals. It can be very wide in terms of texture, taste, and nutritional content. We can mention a few items of snacks for our easy understanding such as - fruits, nuts, chips, popcorn, crackers, cookies, cakes, chocolate and candy, etc.

Some of us prefer healthier snacks like fresh fruits, oats, yogurt, steamed vegetables, dairy products, etc. Snack are not only used to reduce our hunger but they also help us pass our leisure time or the time we spend with our friends and family.

In today’s fast-paced world, the demand for snacks is increasing day by day. From the traditional snacks like chips and cookies now we prefer those snacks which nutrition our health and at the same time satisfy our tummy. We prefer neutralized snacks to work in our bodies throughout the day and help us to be energetic.

Advantage of having Snack

We love snacks for a variety of reasons & also some advantages some of which are mentioned below –

Varieties of taste – Snack come in a wide range of tastes, flavors, textures, and types. These different varieties help us to taste different types of foods and satisfy our cravings or preferences. It can be quickly consumed between our daily busy schedules.

Pleasure and Enjoyment – Many snacks are being prepared to be tasty and enjoyable. The pleasure of having flavorful snacks can change our emotions and enhance our mood.

Stress Relief – Some of us use the help of snacks to cope with stress and emotional situations. Those snacks that are filled with sugar can generate neurotransmitters like serotonin, providing a temporary mood lift.

Like a daily routine – Snacks become day by day our daily routine. We can say it is a habit of every person. In time of school or college break, official mid-time, or in family gatherings it is mostly used.

Hunger Control – In our busy life we may have not good main meals then these snacks help us to control our hunger. Nutritious snacks can balance macronutrients and help us of having better health which we all require.

Improve our focus and concentrate – A well timed snacks can help us of maintaining blood sugar levels, prevention dips that can lead us to decreased focus and concentration. It is important for in physical and somewhere in mental task also.

Disadvantage of having Snack

Besides the advantages of Snacks, we may mention some of the disadvantages which we must be concerned about –

Weight Gain – Taking so many oily or unnutritious snacks consuming in daily life may increase our weight. Which may move toward major illness in our lives. Taking unlimited snacks may increase our blood pressure, sugar, cholesterol, and many more diseases which may have life risks.

Less Nutrition - Snacks that are highly processed may lower our nutrients. The unhealthy ingredients like sugars, saturated fats, and sodium which are used in snacks are dangerous for our bodies, especially for children. It may make them unhealthy and have an imbalanced diet.

Digestive Issues – Having snacks may cause digestive issues. For this, we may have bloating, gas, and discomfort in our bodies. Sometimes it may be the reason for constipation or

Health Issues – Having snacks that are high in refined sugars and carbohydrates can increase rapidly blood sugar levels, having weight gain increases our cholesterol level, and may occur gas in our body which pushes us toward heart attacks. The sugary foods, candies, or acidic snacks without proper oral hygiene may cause many dental problems, especially for children. It may have cavities and tooth decay in our teeth.

In conclusion, I say that day by day our interest in snacks is increasing due to this many reputed companies are bringing different types of delicious snacks in different tastes and looks. Many of them are made with many unhealthy ingredients. We must always be aware of choosing snacks. In this busy life, we may need to have snack a lot but we need to make sure that it is beneficial for our health. Apart from this, we have to be careful about snacks which are consumed by children.

I love snacks but as you have written, besides being delicious, take away hunger for moments, be acts to share with friends, I also agree that many of them are harmful to health.

Hi @zisha-hafiz, I loved your writing related to snacks, with their variety of textures and flavors.

Something very important that you describe is that we should consume those that contain nutrients and multiply our energy, and not those that harm us.

The best thing about snack time is that we can share the moment with friends and/or family, but we can also do it alone.
