The Diary Game #42: Share your day with us!

Visiting Saturday
It was the first day of the new month; the new month and also the first Saturday of the month; a visiting Saturday.
Police secondary school where my younger brother goes holds their visit every first Saturday of each month and this last Saturday was one of such.

Morning: Preparing

I had being very engaged during the week days and wasn't able to get some provisions for him so waking up on Saturday morning, I had that as one of the few first things on my list for the day.
The market I wanted going (Uruwa Mbakara) wouldn't open fully until 10am so instead of waiting around for them, I assisted my mum in preparation the food she intended to carry along.

In preparation for this visit, she made soup, the previous day and on the Saturday morning, she was making coconut rice, all for the visit.

After my morning chores, I assisted her and when it was 9:50am, I prepared and left for the market. At the market, almost everything item had an increased compared to the price I got them for the previous month. Some of the items I got according to the list he earlier sent home through his guardian are;

Afternoon: Visiting

Coming back from the market few minutes to eleven, I hurried and took a bath while my mum who was dressed already arranged all the items with the food into one bag. I took a bath, got dressed, and we were ready to leave.

Arriving his school, Police secondary school, we saw him almost immediately we entered. This was funny because usually, we had to look for him or ask his classmates to call him but this time, he was looking for us.😄

After the normal reception and joy of seeing us, we headed to a class and found a seat where we stayed for the visit. We gave him his food and after eating, he gisted us about some school related happenings. He also saw a movie with my mums phone and after a long while of staying with him, we got ready to leave.

Evening: Returning

We came back home from his visit around few minutes to four. I had earlier planned on returning to school so immediately I got back, I got ready and left to avoid embarking on a night journey.
Before leaving, my mum gave me some provisions and food as well for myself and my siblings who were in school. This is one reason I love coming back home.

I reached Uyo, few minutes to five and went straight to the hostel where my siblings were already waiting. We ate together, I took my bath and called it a day.
In all, it was another good day in the life of a Nigerian student.
