Choices! What will it be? #24

Good day, my dear friends, today I decided to approach my topic in a new way. I am not sure how far it will be successful, but let’s see how my article feels to you.

Sardha was eight years old when Mr. Hemaka brought her to his house. Sardha has no memory of her parents, but her mother’s slight image appears in front of her from time to time. Mr. Hemaka had no children, which was why he brought Sardha for adoption. But from the day she arrived at Mr. Hemaka's house, she had to work as a servant.

Mr. Hemaka’s house was surrounded by a tall wall, and the house had a big gate that was locked every time, therefore no one could enter the garden. The entire garden was fully occupied with a house and no trees at all. Saradha had to work only inside the house. She was locked in the house for over a year and had no contact with the outside world. Saradah, do this, do that, wash this, and clean this, that was the only command she heard every time.

Most of the time, Mr. and Mrs. Hemaka went out but never accompanied Saradha with them. Even no one came to this house from outside. When they left the house, they used to lock all the doors and windows, as well as the gate. Poor Saradha! She was locked inside the house, with no one to talk to or listen to her sorrows.

One day, Mr. and Mrs. Hemaka went out by locking all doors, windows, and gates as usual. Sardha finished all her routine work and watched outside from the glass of the window. She witnessed, someone dressed with white cloth coming towards her. She noticed, that the stranger was not walking but as if floating towards her. She was looking there surprisingly. The stranger, a beautiful woman, said to Saradha, "Child, I am your mother, come with me. I'll take you out to my world. I know you're not happy here". Saradha was surprised and replied ‘Oh! how can I come out, everywhere was locked.’ Then the stranger put her right hand closer to the window and as soon as her hand touched the window, it opened. Next, the stranger touched Saradha, and she felt very light. When the stranger floated away, Saradha also floated towards the stranger. Saradha was surprised to understand that she too could float.

The stranger landed in a beautiful meadow in the middle of a jungle with Sardha, and said, 'Here is your home, you need not suffer any longer, stay here with me happily forever'. Saradha felt great relief and great happiness. Saradha, who was locked in a concrete building devoid of green trees and creatures, was now with her mother. She ran everywhere with joy, and she had plenty of food and drink in the jungle where the rivers flowed. There was no one to command her, and she was surrounded by beautiful butterflies, animals, and birds. She now had everything, such as her mother's affection and birds' and animals' love. She was run around everywhere in the forest, with a light mind and joy. She was happier when she felt that no longer she was locked in that troublesome house.

A sudden blow across her back and Sardha was startled when she heard “How many times have we called you, can’t you hear us? We have been here for more than half an hour”. Sardha identified it as Mr. Hemaka’s evil voice. She was frightened to hear his voice. When Saradha opened her eyes, she saw that Mr. Hemaka stood in front of her with cruel eyes.

It was only then she realized that she had been living in a dream world. When she realized that still she was locked in that evil house, the tears fell from her eyes. Yes, still Saradha locked in that evil house, Oh! poor Saradha!
