SEC19 W5: “A change is as good as a holiday”

. Is holiday season and alot of kids are really excited about this, some of them are at home doing alot of things while some are learning some basic skills. Finally teachers can rest and also have time to do few things they plan to do when they are completely free, my parents are both teachers and they now have the opportunity to rest and do some important things this holiday. I will be sharing a wonderful diary game post with you all about how my day went this week Monday.

Had a professional football training for the first time

I love basketball alot and I take basketball trainings serious, I don't really put all my mind in football because I have more passion for basketball than it, but something unexpected happened on Monday the 5th day of August 2024. We currently have a football tournament in the Deanery Altar Servers association so I told all my players to come to one of the biggest fields in our area, to do some trainings so that we can win out first match.

Most of us came to the field and we saw alot of youths playing football in the field, we felt disappointed but I didn't loose hope because I planned to spend more than 3 hours in the field and am sure the game will end before the next one hour. I sat down at a place and began to take pictures with one of my player's phone, I didn't use my phone because I gave it to one of my friend working in a betting center, to charge it and look after it for me.

My players that were present that day, began to do some small training together by the side of the field, we borrowed someone's football and made use of it, I was just watching them and also waiting for others to come. Alot of players didn't come that day and I wasn't happy at all. I kept on watching the other guys in the field playing football.

It was sunny that morning and I was optimistic about us playing football that day and not wasting our time coming to the field, my younger brother and I trekked to the field which is very far from home as we decided to board Keke while coming back home because we must be very tired by that time.

The game finally ended and the field was now empty, it was that moment I even discovered that they normally sell clothes and football jerseys, at the shop I was sitting close to, I just decided to capture it with my friends phone. We were about to play when a man came and began to prepare his boys for training, my friend whose the owner of the phone, said he's needed urgently, I'm his mother's shop so I had no phone to take pictures again.

My boys and I met the coach and we requested to join his small boys in their training, the man agreed and I removed my trouser and polo and put on my football jersey. We jogged round the field 7 times and cones were arranged in the field and it was at this moment training fully started. After training for 40 minutes 😫, we finally got the opportunity to play football game in the field, which was the main intention of my boys and I, am so happy we achieved it.

The team training uniform which is 22 in number, was shared to all of us, I normally play defence in football but since most of the boys were less than 16 years old, I decided to play midfield and I. refused to be the striker but I was their captain. The game started and I enjoyed every bit of it especially the moment i scored a goal. That was one of the happiest moment to me this month.

The match ended after 90 minute with a goal record of 4 : 3. My team lost because our goalkeeper wasn't good at all, my younger brother is my opponent and he scored two goals for his team. We went home after washing our legs and hands and I took my phone from the betting center and took my bath immediately I arrived home, I was so tired and that was the first time I was playing football after I recovered from an illness one week ago.

We ate potato and stew that afternoon, It was enough for me at all because I was very hungry, imagine eating such a light meal after playing football for 90 minutes, I appreciate the food anyway, that's all my parents can afford that afternoon and I didn't have money to buy extra snack to eat, I was still hungry after eating the potato and stew but I just drank enough water and began to press my phone, the picture above is a plate of my potatoes and that of my youngest sister's own.

In the night, we ate garri and egusi soup. I was very hungry and I ate alot of garri that night, I was so excited and immediately I finished eating, I got the strength to blog in steemit and I also went to my sister's place of work by 11pm and escorted her home. It was a fantastic day for me because I had a very unique football training and I scored a goal, I haven't scored a goal for a very long time.
