Assalam-o-Alaikum Ladies !
Happy Wednesday !

Welcome to my post. I am sadaf from lahore pakistan. I start my blog with the boundless and heartfelt greetings to all respected steemit family. I hope you are all fine with the blessings of Allah.I am also fine with your prayers. I am here to take part in the contest organized by respected lady @ninapenda . The title of the contest is : Contest| "Tools to Spark Culinary Inspiration #8".
I am thankful to her for giving us a chance to share our knowledge on this culinary topic.

I want to invite dearest lady @patjewell , @zisha-hafiz , @shawlin , @creative.streams and @tammanna for take part in this contest.

How did you learn how to cook? Who taught you and what accidents did you encounter during this process?
  • My mother taught me how to cook. My mother had a very bad accident after falling from bike. At that time I was student of FSC part one. Then I learned to cook from my mother along with my studies. Cooking was very difficult work for me at that time. But with the passage of time I learned to cook.

While learning to cook , there were some minor accidents happen like cuts and burns. But Once in my college life I was making breakfast for my family. I made tea. I picked up the teapot from stove. I picked up without any napkin or piece of cloth. Then suddenly I felt my hand was burnt then I dropped the teapot on the ground. Because of this my foot became burnt. My whole foot was burned. It is one of the serious burnt in my life. Then I could not attend my college for almost one week. It took about two to three weeks for heal. Now again I have never made such a mistake.

Do you always use recipe when you cook? Share with us.

Not at all. Sometimes I try recipes and sometimes i try to cook something different. Something different should always be tried that's why I try to do something different and new in cooking.

I also use the recipes of my mother and also from the internet. I made my own fish fry recipe with hot spices in the last winter. It has a very good taste.

Have you ever made mistakes when cooking or are you a perfect cook, tell us. And share with us that mistake story you made when cooking.

In the beginning , I am not a perfect cook. Sometimes , I used to cook a tasteless food and sometime I forgot to add salt in a curry. Once I made chicken macaroni without sauces😂. Can you imagine what's the taste of macaroni without sauces. I can imagine because I cooked macaroni without sauces. Once I was have to cook mutton curry. I burnt the mutton. But now I am a good cook. Now I cook good and delicious food.

Share one food recipe you know.

Let me share the recipe of famous Punjabi dish "kadhi pakora". Tell me you know what is the difference between kadhi and curry ? Let me tell you the difference. The kadhi is a mixture made of yogurt , gram floor and spices. On the other hand the curry is made up of frying onions , vegetables , lentils and beans. Let us come to know how to made kadhi pakora.

  • Put the pan on fire add ghee about three to five table spoons in it. Left it for heat and then add two big size chopped onions in it. Fry it. Fry it well on medium flame.

  • Then add these ingredients one table spoon of garlic paste in it. Fry it well. Add one spoon of salt , one spoon of turmeric powder , two spoons of red chilli powder and two spoons of red chilli flakes.A spicy kadhi pakora prepared by me. Also add chopped tomato and green chilli in it. Then add little water in it. Cook it until it becomes a paste.

  • Then add half kg of yogurt and one cup of gram floor in the juicer machine and made a paste of it.

  • Then add this into the paste which we made with onions and other ingredients. Then add cumins one table spoon and hot spices with coriander seeds in it. Cover it with a lid. Left it for cook about thirty minutes on medium flame.

  • Then I prepared the ingredients of pakoras. I cut the spinach , Onions and potatoes. Then washed it very well.

Then add these ingredients in a bowl add gram floor in it. Add spices in it. Add one table spoon of red chilli flakes and red chilli powder and one table spoon of salt in it. Add gram floor as required for making the paste of pakoras. Then add little water and mix it with the help of hand or spoon.

  • Then put the another pan on the stove add ghee in it and left it for heat. When it is heated well add small size of pakoras in it. If you want you can use spoon for this step I use my hand. Be careful when you fry the pakoras. Fry it until its color become brown. Then separate it in a plate.

  • In that time the kadhi is ready. Fry all the pakoras then add all these pakoras in kadhi. Then after frying the pakoras the ghee add into the kadhi.

  • Add this kadhi pakora into a beautiful bowl and garnish it with fresh green coriander and enjoy the meal with your loved ones. I enjoy this kadhi pakora with white rice.😋

Our mothers deserve an award for teaching us how to cook and they did that with patience because we made lots of mistakes but they never gave up on us. Cooking can be difficult at first but once you master your steps it becomes quite easy.
