SEC16W1: “It is Women’s Day!”
In Tunisia, as International Women's Day approaches, the President of the Republic plays a crucial role in highlighting and celebrating the contributions of women. For example, he chooses to label them from researchers to farmers, thus highlighting the diversity of their skills and achievements. This approach not only encourages public recognition but also the elimination of gender stereotypes, providing women with the visibility they deserve in all sectors of society.
For me, expressing gratitude to the women in my life takes on particular importance. To my mother, I pay tribute for her tireless dedication and unconditional love. To my wife, I express my appreciation for her strength, intelligence and constant support. To my sisters, I emphasize the importance of their unique contributions to our family. A simple “thank you” takes on deep meaning, recognizing the richness that women bring to our daily lives.
When it comes to investing in women, I am committed to supporting educational programs and training opportunities. This involves active participation in initiatives aimed at improving women's skills and broadening their professional horizons. Whether through scholarships, professional training, or educational workshops, I seek to create pathways to women's empowerment through knowledge.
On the equal opportunity front, I advocate for fair hiring practices. Encouraging a transparent recruitment process, where women are assessed on the basis of their skills, helps to eliminate gender discrimination. As an individual, I strive to create a professional environment where women can thrive, confident that their contributions will be recognized and rewarded fairly.
Investing in women, to me, also means promoting health and well-being. Supporting health programs specific to women, facilitating access to quality health services and encouraging wellness practices contribute to the overall development of women.
In conclusion, my celebration of International Women's Day is not limited to one day, but is reflected in a constant commitment to equality, recognition and empowerment. It is by investing holistically in the lives of women that we build a more equitable and inclusive society, where every woman can realize her full potential.
