The Diary Game #57: Share your day with us! ( Celebrated Karva Chauth festival )
Hello to all my beautiful steemian friends.
Today I want to include my participation in Contest "THE DIARY GAME" #57: Share your day with us! organized by @steemladies.
For participating in this contest , I want to share with you all the best day of this week, the day I had a lot of fun with my family on the festival karva chauth.
Our country is a mixture of cultures of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain and other religions. All the festivals in our country are celebrated with mutual harmony and brotherhood. One of these festivals is Karva Chauth.
Karva Chauth is an important festival for married women.
On the festival of Karva Chauth, married women observe a fast without food for the long life, good health and good fortune of their husbands. And the husbands give gifts to their wives.
The daughters-in-law of the house prepare dishes like pudding and puri and go out for the ritual and give it to their mother-in-law or sister-in-law.
This year, this festival was celebrated on 20 October in our country. In this, all the married women dress up for their husbands. After observing a waterless fast for the whole day, they wait for the moon to rise. In the evening, after the moon rises, they break their fast by offering water to the moon. Then they eat food.
I also observe the fast of Karva Chauth every year. Because yesterday was Karva Chauth. So I and my mother-in-law also observed this fast.
On the day of Karva Chauth, womens take bath and wear new clothes. And on this day, womens avoid wearing black and blue clothes.
I also took bath and wore a new suit.
As soon as I came out after taking bath, my husband and both the children were waiting for me with a surprise. In that surprise, my husband had brought a new phone for me. Seeing this, I became very happy.
Then I got ready and went to the kitchen. I prepared breakfast for my husband, my father-in-law and both the children.
After all of them had breakfast, I finished the small household chores.
Then I started preparing puris and puddings for taking out the bayna.
(In our Hindu religion, baina is a kind of ritual taken out by a married woman in which puris, puddings, clothes, money etc. are kept in a plate and given to her mother-in-law or sister-in-law).
After finishing all this work, I was feeling very tired, so I rested for a while.
And then again I went to the kitchen and prepared dinner for the evening. I gave tea to my father-in-law. And I gave warm milk to the children to drink.
After finishing all this work, I started getting ready for the karwachouth worship . In the evening, I wore a yellow gown. And I also did some makeup. And I called a girl from my neighborhood to do my hair style (juda).
Then I and my mother-in-law did the Karva Chauth puja and took out the byna.
The moon had not yet risen, so to pass the time, we did some photography with my new phone.
The moon usually rises late on Karva Chauth.
But yesterday, the moon started appearing in our city at 8:00 pm.
Then me, my husband, my mother-in-law, and my two children, all of us went to the roof and we worshipped the moon.
Then after worshipping the moon, we came down from the roof and completed our fast and then had food.
In this way, many festivals are celebrated in our country. It is very fun to celebrate them together as a family.
We also thoroughly enjoyed the Karva Chauth yesterday.
I want to share some of my Karva Chauth photos with all of you. All these photos are taken from my own camera.
I hope you all will also like this Karva Chauth post of mine.
Now i want to invite some of my friend to participate in this contest.
