DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS A PROHIBITED ACT- SAY NO TO IT

Hello, beautiful ladies in the community and on the platform at large, I hope you all are doing great, Hi to the gentlemen who are friends of the ladies, I hope you too are well.

I want to write about something that some ladies in the universe are afflicted with, and how they can be liberated, and how we ladies can say No to such a prohibited attitude towards ladies, that is domestic violence.

MEANING OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Domestic Violence is an act of being violent or exhibiting violent behavior in the home, which commonly involves violent abuse of a mate or partner. this could be physical; like hitting, psychological; like saying abusive words, sexual, or economic; like deprivation of financial resources to which a person is entitled.

Physical abuse is more rampant than others in most parts of the world.

Both ladies and gentlemen are victims of domestic violence, but it is noted that most victims of domestic violence are the ladies

My experiences;

1. There was a lady who got married to a handsome man but did not have the innermost handsomeness because he was violent. He would beat up his wife frequently over minor issues, and friends, and those who were concerned suggested that she should leave the marriage, but she would not listen. The hubby kept on abusing her violently and on one unfaithful day, he beat her up mercilessly till her spine got fractured, after some time, she was diagnosed with cancer of the spine which led to her death. her death pains me because she was close to my family, she was among those who raised me.

2. there was a nurse who got married to a violent husband who abused her violently on several occasions, but she would not leave the marriage despite the advice of her family and friends. and on one unfaithful day, the husband hit her, and she fell to the floor hit her head, and died. this lady was a colleague of my sister-in-law.

From the above experiences, we see some ladies still want to stay in their marriages even when they are violently abused by their husbands, why?

REASON SOME LADIES STAY IN THEIR MARRIAGES DESPITE BEING ABUSED VIOLENTLY BY THEIR SPOUSE

1. When asked, most of the victims chose to stay in their marriages because of fear of the abuse getting worse, mostly because of the threats from their violent husbands to kill or harm them if they tried to escape. it is noted that some violent husbands carry out their threats.

2. Others are reluctant to leave their marriages because they feel friends and their families will turn against them, and they won't be welcomed.

3. some choose to stay in their marriages because they want their children to grow up with both parents

4. some chose to stay in their marriages because of fear of having to provide financially for their children all by themselves.

5. some chose to stay in their marriage because they erroneously believed they were the cause of their husbands' violent exhibition.

6. Some ladies who choose to stay with their violent husbands do so because of the shame of accepting their husband's abuse of them.

7. some ladies chose to stay in their marriages because they hoped their husbands would change from being violent.

whatever the reason it may be, no lady deserves to be abused violently by her husband, ladies are to be treated with love, care, and understanding, as such Say No To Domestic Violence.

the authorities have put laws in place to protect women from being abused violently by their spouses. For example; the law of human rights states that everyone has the right to life. two compartments of the law help us to see that ladies are covered by the law against domestic violence.

one; substantive obligation, which narrates the authorities(states) are obliged to protect by law the right to life and prohibit an intentional denial of life.

two; procedural obligation, which narrates that the authorities(states) must perform a thorough investigation into the alleged breaking of the law of the right to life. this implies when it comes to domestic violence, the authorities must investigate the threat to life.

this law covers many countries, but some countries have put in place their laws to protect ladies from domestic violence. In my country Nigeria, there are legal steps put in place to protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable. I believe other countries have laws like that.

what am I insinuating, if abused violently by your spouse, or seen a friend or family member abused violently by her spouse, report this highly prohibited act to the appropriate authorities, if that is done, we are in effect saying no to domestic violence.

Secondly, work away if constantly abused. There is no vivid reason for a husband who is supposed to love his wife as himself to violently abuse her. Therefore, the prohibited act should not be justified. Don't have a reason to stay, unfortunately, the abuse may lead to death. so, please ladies let's affirmatively say No To Domestic Violence.

Women are beautiful creatures that beautify the universe, and complete men.Gentlemen men as the name implies should treat the ladies fine, the treatment should be accompanied by love, respect, and care. Women should not be abused violently, let's join hands together and say no to domestic violence.
