It's pleased me to participate in this CONTEST Choices! What will it be? #12 organized by our moderator. This week, five things are given as usual to choose and write which are; Crayons, Fences, basket, nuts, and Jellyfish. Among this wonderful five words, I will share my entry on Basket. Let begin!

Basket is what most people used in the world, it can easily be found in many homes because of the benefits basket carries. It's serves in many purposes.

Basket is a light stiff container made of a thin stripes of wood, straw, cane, plastic, plant materials, metal or wire woven twisted together for the purpose of storing or carrying things.

The definition of the basket remind me in one of the story book page in my primary school time that talks about Baby Moses in the Bible. According to the book, that he was save by a Princess Asiya, the daughter of Pharaoh who went to take a bath in the river. She saw a beautiful and nice basket that baby Moses was inside floating in the Water and she asked her maid to bring the basket. When the basket was brought and the princess caught her eyes on the beautiful baby who was crying, she decided to Nurse baby Moses in his mother hand through the help of Miriam. In that story book, I can recall that the beautiful basket made by Moses mother Jochebed was clearly drew for us as kids then to see and know what is basket. Can you now see that a basket serves in many ways?

Basket has many ways in which individual or company can used and benefits from it.

• Basket can be used in harvesting. Many farmers used basket to harvest their farm product such as grains, fresh tomatoes, grapes, vegetables.

• Storing. Most fruit food vendors prefer storing their fruit in the basket in order not to spoil and get damage. Fruit like pears, orange, lemon, onions and many more. This is because, a basket has many small holes that air can penetrate to help the fruit stay longer.

• In Household. Out of 100% families, 96% families has basket in their homes. Not only homes, some company has it, school, churches, and country. They can used it as a trash bin, clip holder, for newspaper and magazines, knitting accessories, wall decor, kids toy, cosmetics accessories, for plate and bowls, for dirty clothes, beverages, palm fruit, as flower vase etc. Basket, less stress when customers are buying in the grocery store and bakery.

There are different types of basket made in different countries in the world but the outstanding or standard basket types that are easily found are the coiled, wicker, twined, crochet, plaited, lattice,ribbed and macrame. Basket as well comes in different sizes, shapes, texture, style and pattern.

Like my mummy fish basket, it has an eclipse shape made with a wire, very strong. My mother used it in preserving fish by putting fish inside and then placed or hang the basket in front of the fire, as we are cooking using firewood, the heat will be touching the fish inside the basket.

I can also recall the shape and size of an beverages gift basket brought by one of my uncle church member during the last Christmas season, it was a rectangular shapes that has a long size well decorated with a fine ribbons.The basket was made of cane materials.
