RE: Are You Up To Date With Your Splinterland News??
hi @rentmoney
Would you mind sharing with me how is ref-link program structured within this particular game? Do you see any real results coming from their affiliate marketing program?
Cheers
Piotr
Splinterlands offers 5% of Rev share, this excludes individual card purchases. The process is very simple, one just needs to copy and paste their affiliate link from the official Splinterlands site and share it with someone who wants to sign up.
Something I noticed in the crypto world is affiliate rev share is very low. This makes it hard to earn anything of significance unless you can get massive amounts of sign ups or someone who is willing to spend thousands on the game. Seeing I'm posting about and invested in Splinterlands it makes sense that I would use my ref-link but I do wish that Splinterlands would reconsider their model for the affiliate program.
To give you an idea below are my affiliate payments for the last 18 days. Only four transactions that total around 7.5 STEEM and 200 DEC. The Starter set purchases were $10 purchases made by new players I signed up to the game. The booster pack purchases were $2 purchases made with the in game currency DEC. If you have any more questions fire away.

Wow.
Thank you for your prompt reply @rentmoney
Your comment is almost as long as regular posts are :) Appreciate it a lot.
Indeed. Revshares are mostly a joke. @holybread decided to give 5% - and not even in form of anything tradable - in form of item which can be only used within it's game :( Very discouraging and I dont see future for many of those ref-link programms.
How would you organize refshare if you were behind steemmonsters?
ps.
Could you please spare few minutes of your time and have a look at this discussion/proposal that I'm brainstorming with few other guys from "project HOPE"?
Perhaps you would find it worth to join our curation trail. Generally idea is to create a "trigger", which would allow people to join curation trail with their upvote before strong one (300k SP) upvote would follow.

As a person who has done affiliate work for years I do sit back and admire the cleaverness of the affiliate system Holybread set up. As an affiliate who would like to earn from their game, earning 5% of a none transferable in game currency isn't ideal.
I would create two seperate programs. First I would leave the 5% program for all to enjoy. I would rename the 5% rev share program to refer a friend bonus.
I would then create an official affiliate site in which players who are interested would need to apply to in order to be apart of. Those who get approved would be official affiliates who would earn based on performance. For example, Sign up 0-25 new players and earn 5% rev share commission. Sign up 50+ earn 8% , Sign up 100+ earn 10%.
In truth Five percent is ridiculously low and isn't going to attract any serious affiliate marketers. When I was more into affiliate marketing I wouldn't even bother advertise anything that didn't pay at least 20-25% rev share.
I would be more than happy to read your post and I plan on doing just that once I can allot some time to give it the attention it deserves. As for joining a curation trail, I do manual curation myself which puts my VP at a very low percentage (it was at 50% yesterday) so I'm unable to join any curation trails as it would likely zap my VP. If I ever become dormat with my manual curation I will consider your projects trail as one of the ones on top of my list to follow.
