Replace every time you used the word steemit with steem and the post makes more sense. Remember that steemit is just a website that uses the steem blockchain (which is the layer that actually distributes the token).

Regarding the core of your post I kind of agree. There are certain resources that are finite (oil comes to mind) that eventually are going to run out but I think that humanity will in the not so distant future switch to more sustainable alternatives.

Don't get me started on asteroid mining. Once we overcome the technological hurdles that such an endeavor entails we are looking at an amount of resources that dwarfs are current reserves.
