INTRODUCTION

Hi guys, hope you are doing good from wherever you are. Today, i am going to taking you guys on a journey on how to use the what3words web version.

Lately, some of my friends and new recruits who are not able to download the android version of the what3words app due to low memory space had been asking questions on how to use the web version. So i believe this post will be of help.

WHAT IS WHAT3WORDS?

According to Wikipedia, What3words is a proprietary geocode system that is designed to identify any location with a resolution of 3 metres.

Basically, what3words is a map, just like google map. It can be used to identify any location at all in the world.

WHY USE WHAT3WORDS

On steemit, while making a post with locations, or you are making a contest entry post like #mytownin10pics, it is advisable to include the google map or what3words address of that
location.

What3words address is a way of being detailed in your post and it helps your post stand the chance of attracting bigger votes from @steemcurator01 and @steemcurator02.

STEP BY STEP WAYS OF USING WHAT3WORDS WEB VERSION

Google on what3words.com:

Click on the search bar:

From the above screenshot, click on the bar where we have an arrow, you will be navigated to the search page where you need to input the location you are searching for.

Input your location in question:

In this practical, i am using Ariam Village Market as a case study as seen in the above screenshot.

NB: If the location you are searching for is accessible, the system will display it, then you click on the name to get the address. But if the location is not accessible, you will be told location not found.

Click on the location and copy the address:

After clicking on the displayed location, you will be navigated to the address page of your location, then copy the address as seen in the above screenshot with arrow.

Paste the copied address under your post picture in question:

From the above location we searched for, ///nearsighted.drawing.impressionist is the what3words address, so you copy it and paste under your post picture/location.

CONCLUSION

Congratulations, you have successfully used what3words web version to get the address code of your location

Now you can continue to use what3words for more detailed posts on steemit and beyond to locate any address in the world.
