Introduction

SteemALive clocked 1 year on 12/7/2021 and it has been such a great journey so far. We decided to hold an anniversary yesterday the 17th day of July 2021. Due to the nature of things and the timing, we decided to make the anniversary attendance small - it was mostly attended by the city coordinators and all Nigeria country representatives. The event was hosted in the city of Aba, the birth place of SteemAlive community. So here is a summary of how it went down

The Anniversary and how it went down!

The event was set to start by 11am local time as he guests would travelled down from different cities. The person to travel farthest was @talktofaith, our Lagos City Coordinator. We had guests from Uyo, Umuahia, PortHarcourt, Owerri, Enugu, Lagos and Aba. Due to travel and other logistics, there was a 2 hour delay to allow all the guests to arrive.

The event started with refreshments, food and other eatables. It was already 1pm and our some of our guests were hungry. We made sure everyone had enough to each - fried rice, chicken, wine, softdrinks, beer, sweets, and ofcourse the anniversary gifts. After eating, the introductory remarks were made by the founder of SteemAlive community @focusnow. There was also a discussion of the successes of the community. For example, SteemAlive recruited and mentored some individuals that have made a mark on the blockchain such as @ngoenyi, @whitestallion, @alphafx, @reminiscence01, and a host of others.

Further discussions centered around current challenges in the community, recruitment methods and marketing strategies. After the discussions, it was time to cut the anniversary cake (it was brought in late so it had to be late in the order of events). Pictures were taken and it was all a fun activity. A little dancing was also done earlier by those that were in attendance. At the end, gifts were distributed to the Country CRs and City Coordinators in attendance. The event was closed around 3.50pm local time.

Conclusion

We thank all that made it to the event from distant places - The country CR's, the city coordinators and others. We appreciate the donations made by the guests and everyone. We especially thank @samuel20 and @ninapenda both of whom work fulltime in the Aba center. They played a big role in the preparations. We appreciate our supportive community members. Most important of all, we thank @steemitblog for standing by this community in this journey since 1 year now. We look forward to the future with more optimism. We truly hope to make SteemAlive stronger and stronger with time. To our friends who could not attend, get ready for the biggest meetup coming up on December 2020. It would be a blast.
