Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 2||Introduce Your Family
Introduction
Greetings to my dear friends and welcome to the week 2 of the engagement contest.I can see that a lot posts and comments have been flowing through the 7 selected communities.Permit me at this point to join the conversation proper.I will answere the questions as the contest demands.
Who are your family members? Where do they live? What is their occupations?
A family is simply the smallest group in the society. It could be nuclear or extended.Members of a family are related by blood or through adoption. To me family is everything,we can choose our friends but can't choose our family,we grow to see ourselves as members of our family and we can barely change it.
•Who are my family members?
My family members are my father, mother and my siblings. My extended family members are my grandparents, cousin, nephews, uncles, aunts and in-laws.Steemit is a public space and so I won't reveal all members of my family for security reasons and a few other private reasons.Below are pictures of my mum, myself,my younger brother and my only sister.
•Where do they live?
My mum
My mother lives in Imo state,Nigeria. She remains the best female person in life at the moment. Her name is Mrs Emilia and she lives with my dad in Imo state,my home town. She has been a supportive woman all through my children and played a big role in my academic life.I could remember when she teaches me at home whenever I come back from school and she practically taught me how to read and write the English and Igbo alphabet.
younger brother
My younger brother lives in India. His name is Chibuzor a graduate of Industrial chemistry from the federal university of technology,Owerri,Imo state. He is a hard-working and intelligent guy who has always aspired to be successful in whatever he does.He is industrious and goal oriented.Whenever talk about someone who sees positivity in every thing,he is the one.He motivates me a lot.
My sister
My sister lives in Lagos State, Nigeria..She is the one and only sister in the house.I call her adanne even though she is the youngest. Her name is Chinwe which means that God owns my life.God actually owns and supported her life because she was actually born a twin, but the twin die just after birth at the hospital. So she was the only one that lived. That was why she was named Chinwe.
Myself is a graduate of Biochemistry.I love sciences so much.I am a teacher,a true steemian and a crypto trader.I live in Aba,Abia state Nigeria.
•What is their occupations?
Occupation is basically what they do for a living.I will do justice to that.
My mother is a teacher in our community primary school tomorrow right there in Imo state. She actually taught me in nursery school. This is to tell you that she has taught for two decades.Aside teacher,my mum does a lot of freelance job like immunization, voter registration and acts as adhoc-staff during electioneering periods.
My younger brother who lives in India is a programmer and he does graphic designing too.He once told me that Indian are the best programmers. He is diligent in his work and believes in perfection.
My sister is a student of Lagos State polytechnic,Nigeria where she is studying public administration.Aside that she is also a staff of the National Industrial Court right there in Lagos State. So she practically combines work and schooling.
What Special qualities do you like in each family member
Here is a list of special qualities that each member of my family possess.
•Love:
Love is one quality that each of them has in common.True love and affection abounds in the family and barely stay a day without connecting to each other through WhatsApp.We have a family WhatsApp group where we exchange pleasantries and drop updates.
myself:@samuel20
It is true that we all live in different places.Like I will in Abia state,my parents live in Imo state(hometown),my brother lives in India while my sister lives in Lagos state. However, we still interact as if we live together.
•Honesty:
Even though no one is perfect.Within our family cycle,we are honest to ourselves and could barely hide the truth from each other. We could tell lies to others, but within ourselves,we share the truth and so i can vow for any of them.Even as an adult,my parents still trust me so much and can swear on my behalf. This shows the level of honesty and trust that we have built in each other's mind.
•Success Mentality:
Independence and yearning for success is one thing I like so much among my siblings.Personally,I dont like to depend on anyone and I try to explore every legal opportunity to make money and succeded in life.Since I graduated,I have never lived in my parents because I have wanted to make out things and stay independent.
My sister works and school, this is also in a bid to attain success and desist from depending on others. My brother stays in India and has always been doing his best.I am not trying to say that we never stayed under our parents, but truth is that we all want to financial independent.
•Patience:
My mum is a specialist in this aspect. She belives that God's timing is the best and no matter how you try,you can't cheat God's timing. She always believe that one has to hustle and do the right things but it behoves on God to perfect it.I believe in being patient too,but I will always put in my best in everything I do.
Have you ever been helped in a special way by a family member? Tell us your story
Surely I have been helped a couple of times by my family. My parents helped us through our childhood and we all have been helping each other on a regular.
For the sake of this contest, I will tell a short story of how I recieved help from a family member (my sister).
During my National Youth Service(NYSC) i had an issue which delayed my monthly stipend during the first 4 months of my national service year.It wasn't funny at all, living in a far away Benue state and my stipend not forthcoming.I told her my plight.Surprisingly, she sent me money from her salary to use for my upkeep until the stipend issue is resolved. The money helped me until that particular issue was resolved and I was payed the 4 months arrears at once.
Who is your funniest family member?
The funniest member??..I think it's my dad.My Dad is not very friendly but when he talks, you will laugh because he uses archaic Igbo language to speak.Anybody is the Igbo tribe in Nigeria will know that certain archaic Igbo words or sentences can make one to laugh and my dad is a specialist in using it.
My Dad cracks jokes too especially when come together like during Christmas or New year.He will tell you the story of everything that has happened in the village over the past one year and he adds plenty of humour to it.Infact, any time I remember some of stories told by my dad.I will burst into laughter 😃😃.
Tell us any other thing you wish about your family
My family is everything to me.Even in my next world,if at all it exists,I will still choose my family. My mother being a teacher made a lot of positive impact in our academic life.My dad is a contractor that supplies gravel, red mud and sand to builders.I was actually the second child in the family, but the eldest died in year 2020 thus making me the first child of the family. My younger brother and my sister are the other siblings. We are christians of the Anglican Church although my mum was born a Catholic.I am believing God to help and prosper every member of my family.
Conclusion
Among the things we cannot choose in life is our family. This contest has helped everyone to recall the memories and love among each of our family members. It has also made us to learn about other steemians families across different countries.
I am hoping that the contest will live up to the expectation which is to produce quality posts and unending engagement amongs steemians.I a seizing this opportunity to invite @patjwell @anasuleidy @alegnita @pelon53 @ngoenyi @ijelady to participate.
4members of the a unique family that does not hide the truth from each other, though not living together but communicate regularly.
