Introduction

Hi steemians, am writing to share a story written by me, writing stories is what am 100% good at. "Look before you leap" is a saying that means the act of thinking of the consequences of doing something before deciding whether to do it or not. Today I will share a story about a young brilliant guy who didn't end well in school.

The foolish brilliant student

Once upon a time there lived a young boy named Cletus. Cletus was a good boy who was always obedient to his parents and teachers. He was the only son of his parents and his parents have always love him for his good behavior.

Cletus was one of the best student in his class and his peers and teachers have always love him for this. Cletus will always read ahead of his teachers and he always ensure he does all his assignments before going to play.

Cletus was also trustworthy both in the school and at home. He doesn't tell lies nor does he steal from anyone. Anytime there's a donation among his classmates, the teacher always gives the money to Cletus to hold it till they all want to make use of it.

Years later when it was time for Cletus to go to the university, his parents warned him strictly never to associate with bad students in the school, they didn't advice him much because they trust him and he's now matured. When Cletus finally left, his mother and sisters cried because they will miss him.

Cletus who wants to be a medical doctor, tried all his best to achieve his goals and make it life. Cletus will always study just the way he studied hard, back then in he's secondary school days. He improved more in his academical life and was really happy about it, he was also a lover of all, in the institution.

Something happened on the third year of study in the institution, Cletus had a new roommate named Simon and popularly known as "Big fish" because he's a cultist. Unfortunately Big fish influenced the other guys in the room and they all became cultist. It was remaining Cletus and he never wanted to leave Cletus behind.

Big fish (Simon) is always seen pestering Cletus to join cultism but Cletus will always refused, reminding Cletus of the consequences of being a cultist and Big fish will always laugh each time Cletus tells him that. Big fish boldly too Cletus that all those consequences of cultism he has been taught in school were all lies that they doesn't exist. Big fish assured Cletus that nothing bad will happen to him that he will still be a brilliant and good guy.

Unfortunately, Cletus finally joined cult and told Simon and the other roommates that there's no big deal in becoming a cultist that all what Big fish said was right and Cletus' roommates hailed him. Each time Cletus wants to study, his roommates will come to him saying there's a meeting they need to attend immediately, most times they will meet him around 12am in the night and Cletus will foolishly follow them.

One year later, doing an operation in a bank, Cletus shot an old woman and a little girl and they died instantly. Cletus, his roommates and the remaining cult members rushed back home after carrying out a successful operation. Cletus' roommates who also killed some people in the bank, hailed and started saying things like. "brave man", "rugged doctor", "doctor cultist" and so on. Cletus wasn't happy within him, he realized that he killed innocent that souls that day. He also realized he's no longer doing well in his academics, he now was having three carrying overs.

One day during their usual operation, Cletus and the others were arrested and Big fish escaped. It was then Cletus parents knew he was a cultist as it was announced all the television channels and radio. Cletus parents cried and his father was rushed to the hospital as a result of heart attack but later recovered two weeks after

One the final day of judgement in the law court, Cletus was sentenced to death by hanging. When it was time for Cletus to be hanged to death, his father walked up to him and told him this "my former son, I wouldn't call you my son because you have highly disgraced me and now am feeling as if the problems of the entire world is hanging on my heart. Cletus if only you had looked before you leapt, you won't be where you are today, good bye you foolish son" Cletus parents left and said they are never coming back for his dead body.

Cletus wept bitterly 😭 and cursed the day Simon started living with him and his roommates, he also cursed the day he said yes to cultism. Cletus said his last prayers and got ready for death. Cletus was hanged to dead and his dead body was sold to the institution he attended and his own course mates saw used his body to carry out experiment in the school medical laboratory. His classmates cried when they first recognized his body. Some said if he had looked before he leapt, he would have been alive that year to carry out the experiment on another dead body.

Conclusion
