Creative writing: Yielding to Mentorship.

The world is a place where a whole lot of people had lived on and are gone. Many others has lived for over years and are still alive up till date. Men and women who has dedicated themselves to be expose and acquired enough experience and knowledge. Majority of them has studied and has come forth with theories and working principles. If someone is going their direction, is it then wrong to learn from them? I will be sharing with you few thought on be mentored.

A mentor is one that is knowledgeable on a particular aspect of life, to guide and direct another in that field towards achieving the desire result.

A mentor acts like a pointer to the future for another. He sees afar through the knowledge he has gathered in that particular aspect of life. However, they tends to set a path to follow which further findings and discovery can be built on as innovation. They are pathfinders. They have ideas and facts about what one may likely face in the course of a particular step taken. There is a saying that;

What an elderly person sees while sitting, a younger one can't see even when he climbs a tree.

An intern is one that is adviced, trained or cancelled. An intern is one that is mentored by the mentor. In other words, he is the learner as the case may be.

The following are the importance of mentorship;

• Mentorship give direction to the aspect of life one is venturing into.
• It eradicate and prepares one for unforseen challenges and future troubles.
• It helps to overcome unnecessary mistakes as some of those mistakes as already been made my the mentor.
• It brings about vast and speedy result.
• Through mentorship, time, energy and resources can be maximize.
• Mentorship gives an insight into the future.
• It helps one grow faster and better.
• It brings accuracy in decision taking.
• It's the fastest pathway to be successful.

Show me a successful man and I will show you a man with a Mentor or Coach.

The following are the dangers of not having a mentor;

• Trails and errors are inevitable without a mentor.
• It's time consuming to arrived at result or be productive.
• It brings about time wastage of time and resources.
• Lack of a mentor can make some goals unrealistic.
• It can make an individual give up on his or her dreams and visions.

All these and many more happens to be what an individual who fails to recieve direction will likely faced. An adage says:

It's only one that as entered a river before can tell how deep the river is.

Majority of the things people let go in the name of it's too hard happens so because they refused to seek for advice and recieve training.

In everything we do in life there are people who has gone far ahead of us. Taking advantage of learning from them can placed you on the safer side rather than beating around the bush with the mentality of "I want to do it myself". Let's learn from others as no one is a monopolist of wisdom. Thanks
