Approaches toward becoming a great Teacher

Below are few out of so many steps and ideas on how one can stand tall in becoming a great leader. A teacher is one that impact another with knowledge. Never forget that a teacher or leader as the case may be is one that controls, directs, organizes and guides a group of people or organization to a desire aim or goal. Howbeit, the effectiveness of the teacher will at all time reflect in his own aspect or field to which he is leading. It therefore becomes pertinent for one to build capacity to enhance positive impact in his leadership. Below are but few approaches;

• Find a mentor: In order to become a great teacher, one must become a great student. Teachers are students that as grown well in knowledge through the instrumentality of a coach, mentor or teacher. To mentor well, one has to be mentored.

• Lead by example: A good teacher leads by example. Telling someone to do what you don't practice seems odd. My Agricultural teacher thought me that bush burning is bad but he did bush burning every planting season even in the little school farm allocated to him. This crippled my believe in what he taught me back then.

• Know yourself: Self realization is very important. It's better to be real to yourself over what you can and cannot do. This will truly bring you to the point of self improvement for betterment.

• Get a strong vision: Visions are like roadmaps. It gives direction to a destination. Inorder to be a great teacher, vision is a great aspect that must not be neglected.

• Keep developing yourself: Learning is a continues thing. No one has know it all. There is always what to learn for self development. A man that doesn't learn new things, automatically stops growing. To constantly lead and inspire people, one must have enough information that inspires.

• Be a source of encouragement to others: A good teacher needs to be a source of encouragement to his students. It's the duty of the teacher to constantly point his followers to the future with a great energy to keep them encouraged.

• Learn from mistakes: A good teacher seeks to learn new things and in the course of that might likely make mistakes. In the mistakes are good lessons he has to learn which act like experience to him. The experience when being shared builds thick wall of resistance to discouragement of the students.

• Be emotional intelligence: When dealing with people, a teacher must inculcate a well discipline emotional intelligence in order to become a great leader. He shouldn't take actions base on this feeling. Moreso, the integrity of a teacher is uphold when there is emotional maturity from such leader.

To be called a teacher shows that you have what to offer your followers. This might be ideas or knowledge that can aid their growth. This entails that, a leader must constantly be updated with helpful information to help his followers. I believe the few approaches helps.
