Learnwithsteem|| MY ADVICE TO ALL MY RECRUITS AND TO ALL MY FRIENDS WHO JUST SIGNED UP TO STEEMIT|| DO NOT WITHDRAW ALL YOUR EARNINGS, SAVE! SAVE!! SAVE!!! FOR RAINY DAYS
INTRODUCTION
I have noticed that all who just joined steemit are eager to cash out their first earnings that drop in SBD and continue cashing out. This is not a Good practice at all. It doesn't help both you and the steemit family. It is through that we all need to cash out to take care of our responsibilities, I understand this perfectly well. But then, life will still continue and we will all survive assuming we didn't meet steemit. I have a piece of advice that worked for me and I feel can also help you all. You may not do exactly as I did but you can learn from me.
My Advice
I joined steemit in July 2020 after @focusnow gave me the good news. I was happy to join. But on joining, I discovered that steemit is educative. I need to learn. I focused on learning that I even forgot what is called wallet and the rewards I get. My mentor, @focusnow was even the one that will chat me up and tell me how much I have made so far. It gladend my heart but that was not my main focus even though it was part of the attraction.
To be frank, life wasn't easy for me and my family then because, the nobel covid-19 lockdown was just eased off and just before the lockdown on march, my husband had lost the job that brought us to Uyo. Thank goodness to my handkerchief little business that was fetching me little thing that assisted my family.
When I signed up, I told myself that if I had not stumbled on steemit, I would still have survived. So I was managing myself and the little business and was learning blogging and writing. It was not easy really but I kept pushing. I even used the little cash I had to participate in the power up Contest by @kiwiscanfly where I took 4th place on October @SPUD4STEEM promotion. It was a step farward.
The delegation I received helped me to gather more steem power and I kept growing. I never knew I was doing myself much good. I was also powering up my post to 100% which means that all my post pays out as steempower. I never mind.
Let me quickly share how to power up post.
To do so, just before you start typing a post, you have to set it because most times , when you plan to do it after writing a post, you might forget. Here is what you need to do.
First, open a writing page. Assuming you want to write in @steemalive for instance, open the post page and go straight to the advance setting. See screenshot below
Click on it to open. When it does, in the box below Auto reward. See screenshot below
Then select 100% and click save. Congratulations, you have set your post to 100% power up
Click 100%
Click save
This will help you to build your steem power. It is still your own but you are saving them for better tomorrow. Do you understand the benefits of setting your post to 100% power up?
For one thing, you are growing your steem power which is also an investment. Remember that one with high steempower earns voting rewards if he curated posts. That means that in addition to your author rewards, you will also earn curation reward. And this inturn keeps increasing your steempower.
For another thing, steempower helps you have influence in steemit ecosystem. You can vote for others and they will keep praying that you visit their posts the same way you pray that @steemcurators or individuals with high steempower visit you.
With your steempower, you can make delegation and assist your own newbies to start up on steemit. Yes, those who sign up newly needs the power to post even their first post. If you signed up newly, you will notice that you have been given 15 steempower as a delegation. This is the only thing that can help a newbie to post. I have personally delegated to about five person's I signed up newly due to the little sign up glitch that we are experiencing. It gives me joy to do so and the people I sign up may not understand all these. You too can do the same.
You can also take advantage of price increase when the price of steem increases when you will have a better need to take out some of your steempower though not adviced. Iwhen I joined steemit on july last year, steem price was less than 100NGN ($0.02) or there about but today, the price is more than 400NGN(0.8) more then tripled. It is a very nice investment, not so?
Another good thing in steemit is that, it is supposed to be the more you stay the less stressed you will become. That means that, having saved up for some time, the pressure will reduce knowing that you are not only earning from writing but also from voting. Amazing, isn't it?
In conclusion, I will like you all to grow in steemit and not be stagnant. You need to save little by little so as to help you grow. I am glad that you are going to do that. Thank you all for reading. I just want to make common sense.
