INTRODUCTION

Hello friends and fellow steemians, greetings to you all. It is indeed a happy thing to learn with steem. Earlier on this contest, I was able to but up, in a simplified manner how to make mixed cereal flour or what we call tom brown. Today I will like to take us on another simple but important recipe that will thrill you and your family.
Sometimes mothers like me run short of ideas of what to prepare for our families to create a twist. But not really when you know how to put few things together that are still healthy but tasty. On Sunday morning, I see some people looking for where to buy Akara or what is called beans cake. Sometimes you don’t really know how it is prepared and even the quantity that may be enough for our families, but we buy it anyway and consume. But what if you can just prepare it on your own. That will be a great idea not so? Thank goodness for learn with steem, please let’s go there now and learn with steem on how to prepare akara/beans cake for either breakfast with tom brown/ mixed cereal, or what we call A&B here that is akara and bread, for lunch along with juice and so on.

Sometimes it becomes a problem to remove the skin and grind. But please learn also how to make the flour such that you can just mix it water and fry.
You need beans because that is a major ingredient. There is a specific specie of beans that is used for it ,but recently, we have come to realize that you can just make do with any specie.

INGREDIENTSAND PROCEDURES

CerealQuantity
Dry beans1/2kg
Fresh pepperto taste
Freshgingerto taste
Fresh garlicto taste
Fresh turmericto taste
Onionsto taste
Saltto taste
Groundnut oilfor deep frying

So just lay your hands on any beans of your choice like the one on the picture above. Let’s just for the purposes of the write up, prepare just 1/2kg of beans. The cup here is tin milk cup.
Then you add fresh pepper to taste, salt to taste. I usually add ginger, turmeric and garlic.

Wash of the skins, add the ingredients and grind in your blender if the one you have can blend it to a smooth paste. If not , you can take to the mill. Then , turn it in a bowl or mortar and turn it vigorously to obtain a smooth consistency. After that you can now slice onions and either add it to the paste or add it after scooping the paste to oil.

Oil? Yes, you need it for deep frying. When you might have gotten a smooth paste, place your frying pan on the fire , pour in your oil that will be enough for deep frying. Let it get hot. After that , scoop the paste to the frying pan little by little to deep fry. Fry till it is ready. Then enjoy!

Note that you can make a beans flour by your self so that it will be much easier for you. Keep on following my posts, i will surely help you learn how to do it in this learn with steem contest. Untill i come your way again do have a lovely experience as you try out this beans cake.

This is nice! Thanks for this article. The most difficult part of preparing akara is during the beans stage, thats i why i don't do it myself, ofcourse i can't but my mum often does it. Thanks for sharing. But i like akara well well.
