Steemit is a social platform based on steem blockchain, where users are given and open opportunity to learn new things and get rewarded for creating content, engaging in contest and blogging.
Unlike the facebook platform where people create groups and also post picture and friends comes to like and comment on your post, in steemit the are various communities which are guide for new users most especially (as in groups) where one could join and become an active member by participating in contest, learn about blockchain technology, posting content and commenting on others peoples post. By this, friends can view your post, upvote or downvote (as in like) and comment on it.

Reputation
“the opinion that people in general have about someone or something, or how much respect or admiration someone or something receives, based on past behavior or chracter’’[source] (https://dictionary.cambridge.org). Reputation is a necessity to progress on steemit. People with high reputation are those that makes quality content and the system tend to trust them. Reputation is dependent on content quality, post on comment and building number of followers. Here’s a breakdown.
As a newbie who’s yet to make a post and to be upvoted begin with a reputation of 25.
With a reputation of 30, some post and self-introduction to communities has been done.
With a reputation of 40, you know your ways around steemit and engagement in community support.
With a reputation of 50-60, you have a reasonable amount of followers, create quality content, earn a lot of steem and also create positive impact in the community.
With a reputation of 70 above, you are a teacher, a guru and a master on steemit.
Similarly, one can have a negative reputation if a bad content is put on, plagiarized content, misleading tags which leads to a downvote and in turn decreases one’s reputation.

** How Can you Earn on Steemit? **
Basically from creating post, posting comment, participating in contest and upvotes from curation. One can earn steem, steem power, steem dollars and Tron.

** Is Upvote Guaranteed? **
An upvote is not guaranteed, but can be earn by hard-.work, consistency, patience and posting quality content avoiding copyright material and unsourced imaged. Which leads to a decrease in reputation.

** Should I Stick to One Community? **
Steemit is too vast to stick to one community, as one might limit he’s or herself from exploring learning opportunities. It’s advisable to explore as many communities as possible, engage in contest which broadens one’s scope of learning on trading, how steemit works, how to earn and how to invest.

** How to sign up? **
You go to your browser and type steemit.com, at the top corner you click on sign up, you further proceed by filling in the registry form and click continue. Get verified and your account is successfully created. Sign in to steemit wallet and download a document containing your login details and key which must be kept secret and safe.

** Should you envy others who receive upvotes when you have not received? **
It took persistence and consistence for others to get good upvotes, instead of envying others for their progress I rather improve the quality of my post, interact with them to gain more ideas and information and become an active consistence member.

** How can you improve in your writing skills? **
One can improve in writing skill by writing, make research on the topic of interest, look out for updated information and most especially reading and understanding other people work.

**What sacrifice I’m I willing to make to succeed on steemit? **
I plan to build a positive reputation, spend time creating quality content, receive curation rewards, buy liquid Steem and power up my steem so that I can support the community and be able to upvote others.

**what are my plans in growing my steem power? **
I plan on growing my steempower by powering up, earning from contest, buying of steem and exchange of SBD to steem power.
I really commend @steemalive, @focus and @ngoenyi for this great opportunity.
