My favourite CryptoCurrency

Steem still remains my favorite cryptocurrency even though I have only held it for a little over a month. I convert it directly to my local currency (NGN) whenever I want to make use of it to buy something other than another cryptocurrency. It transformed my life positively because it was how I got into the crypto world. Having steem in my possession makes me optimistic. I'm looking out for a rise in the value of the coin which will mean more money. This gives me some positivity.

It'll be a thing of joy to see lots of businesses come to accept steem as a form of payment. How that can be possible is what I'll like to talk about next.

The Seller's Opinion

Ever since I first considered this issue of getting businesses to accept steem as payments, I have gone on to examine different opinions and ideologies and I must confess, as a starter in crypto, I've learnt a lot.

Howbeit, permit me to follow a simple logic to address this subject matter. This logic is based on my experience on the steemit platform and as an online store owner.

This post is not about the technicalities in the crypto world and what technicalities to adopt to shoot steem right to the top amongst other cryptos used as payments but the erstwhile unconsidered glaring opportunity that makes a valid case for itself.

Utilizing the steemit social media platform

Steemit as we know it, can easily pass as a social media platform. So if we're talking about promoting steem as a means of payments and we're not making mention of steemit then I'm wondering...

If one can recieve payments on steemit as curation/author rewards, then why can't one receive payments for goods sold or services rendered?

For the better part of it's definition, steemit is a social media platform. Here, people find people, meet people and interact with people. It's imperative to say that there are people who have become very good friends or even business partners and they met here on steemit.

So if we can meet and interact here, just why can't we do business here?

Here, let me prove that this logic works.

Social media and business

Many social media platforms now incorporate business accounts because they understand this basic logic.

Every business is a person or an individual. They may be corporate individuals but they're still individuals nonetheless. If people hold accounts on social media platforms, businesses can too. If people interact with people on social media platforms, businesses can too, so?

If business accounts are created and businesses sign up, transactions will ensue just like normal interactions between people take place on the platform.

Transacting on steemit

By means of posting, businesses can inform existing or prospective customers of available products or services. This posts can get upvotes depending on the popularity of the business and this upvotes can incite huge discounts which will normally attract lots of sales and patronage. If that happens, businesses on steemit will experience huge turn overs or patronage within a short time. This can be a bait for other business to have a presence on steemit.

Here's how a normal simple transaction can go on steemit

• Business post products/services
• Potential customer comments indicating an interest
• Business replies with a proposal on how customer can receive goods/services
• Customers transfers steem/SBD with a memo inline with delivery proposal
• Business delivers as proposed.

This way, rather than taking steem to businesses, we can bring the businesses to steem here on steemit, That automatically makes them accepts steem/SBD as payments.

Steemit as an already-made business social media platform

Each steemit account has a wallet so steemit was set up for transactions from it's design. If special accounts are constructed for businesses, a customer can simply transfer steem or SBD to a business and a transaction is completed.

Talk of offline issues and I'll tell you that that's found everywhere. People sell/render poor goods/services so that's a general business factor. We deal with it the way it's dealt with anywhere. Delivery too tows the same line.

The success of some of the contests run on steemit is an indicator that introducing business accounts will be a bang. Businesses will surely engage their followers/customers as such engagement campaigns will generate more followers. This engagements can be another means of luring new users to steemit platform.

Now if people can bring their business to steemit, with special business accounts and refer their customers to steemit for special discounts like businesses do with their apps to promote them, we would have succeeded in having businesses receive steem/SBD as payments and if we get things right, we can even promote this platform and by extension the steem CryptoCurrency.
