INTRODUCTION
hello everyone my name is Giwa deborah inamueshi I am grateful to be part of this great platform today I will be sharing with you all my first dairy Post on the steemalive community

YAM POTTAGE

Recipe which is also known as yam porridge is a very delicious yam recipe though it's eaten by most tribes in Nigeria however, it is more common in the Yoruba speaking part of Nigeria it's also easy to make if you love yam. It's a must try recipe.

THE POTTAGE/YAM PORRIDGE RECIPE

Yam recipe such as fried yam pounded yam.
Yam and egg Stew have become classic in their own right. This yam porridge recipe taste just my mom the only difference is that it's uses parsley which is not typically in my mom's recipe. However you can choose to add any herb or any leafy greens of your choice like spinach or ugwn

ASARO is made from puna yam which is boiling till it's tender and it's cooked in a blend of pepper tomatoes and onions, palm oil, and seasoning.
While the dish is more common to the Yoruba speaking region of Nigeria it's still a meal enjoyed by majority a like each with.

There are a few things to note when making the yam pottage
1 it's best to use the freshest palm oil will ruin the taste of the pottage.
2 it's best to use as little seasoning as possible because the yam itself is sweet so excessive seasoning will over shadow the sweet taste of the pottage.
3 Add a little more water if necessary but do not over add it.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 yam mediums side puna
1 onion mediums side
1/5 paper sauce a blend of pepper tomatoes and onions
1/2 cup palm oil or fresh
2 tablespoon crayfish
Water
Crabmeat stockfish or dried fish
Parsley or any leafy vegetable

CONCLUSION

Today’s dish was extremely stressful but also fun cause my friends were there to cheer me up and also they offered a helping hand though I love cooking cause is one of my hobbies. It was awesome cause the food was delicious.

Thank you for educating us on how to prepare the yam delicasy.I haven't eaten such food before but I will try cooking it using the procedure you mentioned.
