Introduction
Hello fellow steemiains. I bring you happiness and educative information on drug abuse. When I saw this topic in this ProWriters hubwk4, i was happy and said to myself, I must participate. Everyone knows that drug abuse is bad wether is small or big.
What is drug abuse?
I understand that abuse means doing something in another way that is not meant for or using something in an excess. Drugs abuse is when somebody is taking ilagal drugs or take it in an excessive way. For example, malaria drugs is giving to someone to take for 3 days and after 3 days, the person went to chemist shop and buy that drug again consume it with the assurance that eheee I have taken enough to treat malaria final. That is drug abuse.
Again, if doctors prescription is for you to take 1 tablet daily, and you think it will not work in your body and you take it 2 daily. It is also drug abuse. Each time you take drugs against each original purpose, it is drug abuse.
In what ways have you observed people abuse drugs?
I will tell you a story of Mrs Uzoka who was given Phanceda in the chemist to take for 3 days. The drug is just 3 tablet in a card and she was told to take 1 tablet every day. According to her when she regained concience in the hospital. She took the 3 tablet at a time because she thought that 1 tablet is small to what is happening to her.
So as she took the 3 tablets and ate dinner. In less than an our, she started behaving strange and her Son Chikwado tried to find out from her what is the problem is but no good reply. He came outside to call people for help. Before he came in with 2 good neighbors, Mrs Uzoka had fainted. They rushed her to the nearby hospital.
The doctor with his experience asked them to bring coconut water that she looked like somebody who took over dose of drug. They gave her coconut water and milk. After 3 hours, she regained concience and in the morning she narrated her ugly story Drug abuse.

What are the harmful effects of drug abuse?
It can cause brain disorders
It can damage the liver
It can lead to death
It can disfigure unborn child if pregnant woman abuse drugs
It can lead to incomplete treatment especially in malaria treatment where people stop taking their drugs when they feel a little bit better
what are practical ways that drug abuse will be prevented or even eliminated?
Stop self medication
Doctors should take it it up on them to educate people.
Chemist shop should not sale what they have but what people need.
Parents should administer drugs the way a doctor prescribed it.
Do not take overdose because you want fast healing.
Do not buy drugs to take because you heard someone saying, I used it and it wasssssss very good for a particular sickness. Remember our body mechanism differs. It may not be good with your system.
Go for test when you are sick. It will help you to know what to take.
Conclusion
In conclusion, drug abuse is bad and it is very dangerous to our health. Say no to drug abuse.
This is actually the best way to define drug abuse. The woman in your story, Mrs Uzoka looked down upon the drug. Had it been she died, her people will hold the doctor or nurse saying that he/she killed their mother and daughter. Let her learn from her mistake. I wish all drug abusers can read this article.
