TEACHING HOSPITAL
The hospital was founded in 1999 though it was a Fedetal medical center and later in 2008 changed to University of Uyo Teaching Hospital. The Hospital is a Tertiary Health facility located in Uyo Municipality council area along Abak road in the North by ikot oku ikono community, in the east by ikot ntuen community. It is also use as a training centre for medical, nursing and other paramedical personnel. It's use as a referral center for cases that cannot be managed in health center and state hospital that is primary and secondary health institutions, It is also a research centre and is made up of various departments and units which include the following: administration, nursing service, medical service, laboratory, infection control unit, radiography, pharmacy and health records.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
This was the first government tetiary institution in the state, it was open in the year 1991, they had their first matriculation in March 1991. This is where students are learning and lecturer lecture, it has plenty department. They are running both NCE and Degree program.
It is located at Afaha Nsit in Nsit Ibom local government area of AKWA Ibom State.

Student use to go there and select what they want and funky Calle it Tammies boutique.
They always offload foodstuffs like yam, garri, rice, beans, potatoes,fresh tomatoes and varieties of fruit, fish and grayfish etc there from other state and all the local food stuff.

@gracyakan one reason I don't like government hospitals is because of their bad behaviour and poor customer service.
But I did like the okporoko in the market picture...could sure make some.sense in a pot of got jellof rice. 😂

Most of them display very unwelcoming attitude. Secondly, the doctors strive to open their own hospitals and refer patients indirectly to theirs, they scarcely stay at their duty post. Another one is that there are normally no drugs in government hospital that's why people that can afford private hospitals don't come to government owned hospital for any reason.
The hospital seems like a big one and can handle different complex cases. I think it's a blessing to have such hospital in your city. Good health care is a scare commodity in our nation and it will be awesome to have more hospital like that. You made mention that the college of education is the first institution in the state and it was founded in 1991, that's three decades ago does that mean the state is a new state or people born before then had to travel far for their education?

Wow that college of education is really young and it's good to know they run both NCE and degree programs also it will be an opportunity to visit itam main market because I've seen that things will be very cheap but it's unfortunate that I'm far away.
