Forest is a large area that is filled with high density of trees and bushes. It is a system made of animals and micro-organisms and an environment for variety of living things such as plants,microbes and animal lives in the forest.

Forest management is the method of controlling the exploitation of forested lands . Forest management concentrates mainly on reducing hazards, managing vegetation,restoring ecosystem etc

importance of forest management

1. it enables adaptation and resilience to natural disasters
2. it supports the application of global measures to combat global warming
3. it maintains the social and environmental value of forest.
4. forest management has created variety of job opportunities for individual for example forest managers, harvesters,extracting work etc

methods of forest management

There are different methods in which we can manage our forest but I will be listing just four(4)

1. Timber Extraction:This is a method where forest managers remove or transport timbers or big trees that falls in a forest, roadside, skidder and cable way from the forest
2. Planting and replanting of trees:In this method those fallen and harvested trees and replanted to avoid extinction of forest and to avoid the forest from being scanty and also new species are planted
3. Preventing fire:It is important to prevent fire from entering the forest to avoid burning down of forest trees and animal. If a forest is attacked by fire it damage the soil and it will take decades to retain the forest
4. Cutting pathways:It is very necessary that a forest manager should clear the pathways of the forest so it does not exceed the area that is ment for the forest and it will not cover the forest walk way with bushes

conclusion

forest management is a part of forestry that deals with the management, reducing hazards, forest exploitation. forest management is much important that it helps to maintain the environmental value of forest. If not for forest management, production of timbers and other trees would have stopped because people will keep on harvesting them without thinking of replanting and there might be no home for wild animals and other living things that dwell in the forest.
