LOCATION

This is the picture of the road leading to the largest, and most popular hospital in city, it also doubles as the university teaching hospital. The junction to the hospital is known as (Teaching hospital junction) or locally Called (Ahia Nkwo junction). One can walk down the road or board a tricycle (Keke), it's not a long distance from junction. On the way you will pass the small daily market that the junction is named after, then comes the popular Club25 a magnificent building with lots of recreational facilities, like lawn-tennis court, swimming pool, table-tennis, and other indoor sports. Rich and wealthy people come there every day to relax and stay fit. After some private buildings, you will see another landmark, this time a private school called Amazing Grace Academy (AGA)
After the school on the other side of the road is ABSUTH. Now let's go inside the hospital and see things for ourselves.
Our first stop will be the entrance of the main building. The hospital has many doctors, nurses and student doctors, but today nobody is seen around the building, the premises are over by weeds, except few people at the security gate.

THE RECEPTION HALL

Location

Here you have more than six nurses attending to patients, most of the receptionists are friendly and caring. As you can see nobody is here, because they are on strike over unpaid salaries. On the opposite side of the reception hall is the waiting hall for patients.

PATIENTS WAITING HALL

Location

On the right side of the reception hall, which is on the ground floor is the elevators and a notice when the then governor, commissioned the hospital and stairs leading to other floors. Remember it's a four floor building with a pent house.

THE ELEVATORS AND THE SIGN

Location

The elevators and stairs leads to the other floors. The first floor houses offices and children's ward.
The second floor is also offices for students and medical laboratory.
The third and fourth floors are male and female patient ward. The pent house is for few doctors/student doctors.
I wasn't able to go upstairs because of safely precautions, as the whole building is deserted.

Conclusion

The need for hospitals and Doctors can not be over emphasised. This is one of the most important sectors, and should not be allowed to go on strike. In situations like this people with health issues are left without a choice but to patronize private hospitals who's hospital bills can be on the high side, and some might even loose their life. But with public hospitals, there is a healthy competition. Thank you for reading along, please I will love to read your opinion on the comment section.

@emjeak, your mentality is right when you say:

The need for hospitals and Doctors can not be over emphasised. This is one of the most important sectors, and should not be allowed to go on strike

Surprisingly, nowadays, they do go on strike even more than teachers. Its too bad! But my happiness is that one day, sickness will be no more meaning that there will be no need for hospitals and doctors. But before then, i think we still need their help.

@marajah. Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate.

But my happiness is that one day, sickness will be no more meaning that there will be no need for hospitals and doctors.

I strongly believe that. But as long as this old wicked system still exist, they're important to all. Best wishes.

Wow @emjeak, you penetrated them oooo, the day I went there to snap the school so I can write, the students of the school vehemently refused me doing that, while I was already inside the premises. It's a beautiful place, spacious and good, I have been there. Really our governor has worked. Thanks 👍👍
