Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 2 (Week2)| Introduce Your Family - The Chi’s Family!

Introduction

Hello everyone on the steemAlive community, it’s the second week of the challenge, and it’s awesome so far from my side. Accept Steem greetings from Cameroon. This challenge is an opportunity for us to talk about our family members, who they are, and what they are doing. It's good for me because every member of my family is strong and healthy as of today that I am writing this post💃🏼. For this, it’s enough reason for me to celebrate good health, otherwise, there is no need to live.

Who are your family members? Where do they live? What are their occupations?

I came from a family of 8, all girls, and my father and mother are still strong and healthy. My father is from the royal family and was the lone son/child of the mother when she was married to the fon.

Unfortunately, all my grandfathers and mothers are of blessed memory. From what I was told when growing up was that my father’s mother was having issues with the royal family, so she left the palace and got married to a different man where she gave birth to my father’s sisters and brothers. My father grew up under the care of his stepmother. He ended school in standard 2 (school in those days was classified in standards). He can read and write well. This has helped him over the years when he was actively doing business. He used to tell us how they trekked to and fro Nigeria to Cameroon to buy goods, especially gun powder and sell. He is 78years old today. Presently, he has 10 grandsons and 8 granddaughters.

My mother is from a polygamous home of 6 wives and numerous sisters and brothers. I use to wonder how they cope with the present-day situation of polygamous homes. But she said, it was fun 🤩 and you will hardly notice any fights. But her father was a traditionalist with strong traditional stereotypes hindering my mom from going to school. She loved to go to school but her father said the school was for boys and not girls. She had to stay back at home to babysit her younger ones who were boys. Until when she got married to my father. Since my father was business inclined, she had to also start trading, moving from one market to the other within the North West Region of Cameroon to earn a living and make sure her kids were educated.

As I earlier mentioned, we are 8 beautiful sisters, 6 are happily married and 2 are yet to get married. Below, I will talk about each of us according to birth rights. For security purposes, I might not fully disclose much information about them because we are in a crisis environment but I will make sure to give out the necessary details.

The first born of my mother is presently based in Rwanda. She had to stop school at some point to hustle and make sure her kid sisters were satisfied. She is a certified chef 👩🏾‍🍳, and that is what took her to Rwanda. She went there for a job but the conditions of the job were not favorable for her, and she decided to settle there and run her restaurant. Today, she is a restaurant owner in Rwanda.

The second child is based in South Africa, she is a specialist in GIS and Remote sensing. She is an environmentalist and has a doctorate in geoscience and environmental management. She is a researcher and a senior lecturer/head of the department at NorthWest University.

The 3rd born is based in the economic capital of Cameroon. This one is multi-talented. She can do anything if she desired to do it. She is a lab technician, a designer, and a seamstress. She designed both men's and female designs. She is equally a baker, she does all sorts of pastries.

The 4th born is a businesswoman. Since childhood, she loves to be independent and always had the little business she does when she was a kid. She is also, a hairstylist, she does wigs. She buys goods from Nigeria such as can drinks, hair products, etc, and retail. She is based in the North West Region of Cameroon. I happened to be her immediate kid sister. So, I will not talk about myself but in case you want to know more, then go check my introductory post🤪🤪🤪.

My immediate kid sister is also a businesswoman. She has a provision store where she sells foodstuffs and other items. She is based in the West Region of Cameroon. She was based in the North West Region but due to the crisis, she was forced to move out because her husband was constantly targeted by separatist fighters because he was the principal of government high school, and the elder brother was a pedagogic inspector.

The 7th born is based in the economic capital of Cameroon. She is also multi-talented as she always strives to be the best. She studied Banking and Finance at the University and is currently preparing to embark on an MBA program. She is a finance officer in a company. She has a store where she sells dried grind spices and other dry vegetables such as eru, okonghobong, bitter leaf, water leaf, etc. She self-learned IATA online and uses the skills to book air flight tickets, and check the security, and sustainability of airlines before booking a ticket. This made her work in an airline travel agency.

The last born is a businesswoman and is based in the North West Region of Cameroon. She sells good shoes both male and female.

What Special qualities do you like in each family member?

The following are qualities that make my sisters unique and make me always happy when around them.

This is what makes our firstborn unique. She does not tell lies or deceive you to do wrong things. If she was not an honest person, then none of us will trust her. But the trust we all her for her is because of her honesty. For instance, she is that person I can entrust all my financial details to, give her all my money to keep. Guess what, the day you ask her for the money, she will bring the exact bank notes you gave her to keep.

This quality is all you can find in our second born. She is passionate about life and always achieves her goals. This made me see her as a mentor. She does not take failure as a reason to quit but believes that failure is just a way to strengthen you to work harder.

Our 3rd and 7th born are super creative. This is why I think makes them successful today. Their hands are gifted with multi-talents. There is nothing these two see as obstacles in life because they use every opportunity to create something meaningful for their own business.

is one of the qualities that best describes all of us. Yes… we always try to understand each other and share our feelings whether sad moments or good moments. This has been the main driving force uniting us together.

is one of the qualities I think almost all of us have. There is no perfect family out there so not everyone will understand well and pass the message correctly. However, one unique quality we all have is to listen more and speak only when necessary. Guys, we hate blabbers

Have you ever been helped in a special way by a family member? Tell us your story.

Ooh yes, the family they say is gold, indeed my family is everything to me. Permit me to share with you guys the wonderful things my sisters do and will always do for me when need be.

The first and most important help my sisters (first born and second born) gave to me as their kid sister was that they made sure I went to school till accomplished my master's degree. These two made sure I lack nothing in school.

Another important help I have received from my family is financial and spiritual support. Each time when I have financial challenges, they always support me.

Who is your funniest family member?

🤔🤔🤔Unfortunately, I do not think there is any funny person in my family. Everyone seems to be serious to achieve their goals.

However, the only person that once in a while she can make us laugh is our last born. But my dear, she can make you laugh in a minute and the next second she starts throwing words that will make you angry at the same time😄🤨. But one good thing about us is that we do not hold grudges.

Tell us any other thing you wish about your family.

The only thing I wish for my family is good health. To me, I think good health is vital because you can have all but if you are not fit health-wise, then there is no need to live. Health is everything anyone will wish for.

Lastly, I wish all of us peace of mind. This is important because, without peace of mind, we will suffer depression. Depression is the cause of death among most women. Therefore, I wish all my sisters and parents peace of mind.
