CONTEST Looking Back/Look Forward 3.42
Since early 2020, I have been staying home mostly. The furthest I went was the next city, even when the rules were relaxed and we were allowed to travel across states. It felt tiring to go too far, mentally and physically. One was the rules and fines that were imposed, second was the thought of all the things that we needed to do before and after, and the thought of all the what ifs.
By staying home, we had our television on most of the day and night time while we carried out our daily routine. We usually have the news channel on and when we get bored with the repeated news, we would switch to Youtube and browse for videos. Talk shows, travel shows, food shows, music videos and anything under the sun.
Nowadays, one of the things I look forward to everyday is to check what is new on Youtube. Just a while ago, we watched a video of various egg dishes preparation round the world and there is something about watching food preparations. These are not cooking shows but people taking videos of street food stalls mostly or restaurants or little stalls around Asia, Europe and Americas.
Thanks to the internet and thanks to the past year’s staying-home-most-of-the-time experience, there is pretty much no need to travel these days. Just look for a place you are thinking of in the internet and we are all good to go. We get to travel to places we have not been to or would never have been able to dream of going because in the first place, we wouldn’t know that these places exist. Nowadays, travelling seemed so tiring. I would rather stay home and just watch the Youtube. Peaceful bliss while traveling the world.

Many turn out to get a burn out on their holidays abroad which we hardly hear about. Travelling is big business. In my country that business is gone thanks to the restrictions. Soon restaurants, lunchrooms, snackbars etc are too and what we see on youtube is history.
Before I leave I need to arrange for at least one week (house, garden, animals), next the travelling, waiting, once arrived it's busy again and a few days later back home (exhausted) and once arrived house, garden, animals are waiting...
Imagine you are robbed on your holidays, the camping or hotel is not what you expected from it... everything way more expensive... all that stress makes enjoying a new environment hard.
Very true, some places no longer exist, not only because of the economy, some were destroyed by natural disasters too. Yah, so tiring just thinking about it. We have plants and fishes to think about too. Better to just stay home :D
That's why we built a home. To stay and feel comfortable. 💖🍀

Hello @marblely, I also love watching youtube videos. It's rather watch that instead of a whole movie. It entertains me more. Times have changed a lot and there have been better and new ways of spending our days. Greetings for you
