Caturday at the temple by the river in Bangkok, แมววัดริมแม่น้ำ

As soon as I came back to Bangkok I would be thinking about those stray cats at the temple by the river. I wondered how they were doing, whether anyone had been attacked by stray dogs and whether they had enough to eat during the last seven days. Although by here was a kind monk who provided cat food in front of his little residence, several cats dared not go near that place. There were possessive cats who would chase outsider cats away.

So, I had to walk around the other corners of the temple to feed skinny and hungry cats. They always ran up to greet me as they knew they were going to have some food. These cats have been living among the rocks and cement boulders inside a construction site at the temple. They had no idea that it’s very dangerous to be sleeping there. I just hoped the builders would make noises and give then enough time to run away.

เวลากลับมาถึงเมืองหลวง เราก็จะคิดถึงพวกแมวเร่ร่อนที่วัดยานนาวา. เราหวังว่าคงไม่มีแมวโดนสุนัขจรจัดกัดหรือทำร้ายร่างกาย. หลายตัวคงจะผอมมาก เพราะไม่มีคนใจดีไปเลี้ยงอาหารแมว แส้ว่าจะมีพระรูปหนึ่ง ที่คอยเลี้ยงอาหารแมว แต่กล่องอาหารวางอยู่ที่หน้ากุฏิ แมวหลายตัวไม่กล้าเดินเข้าไปที่นั่น. เพราะแมวเจ้าถิ่นจะคอยขับไล่แมวพวกอื่นๆออกไป

เราก็เลยต้องเดินไปรอบวัด เพื่อตามหาแมวที่หลบซ่อนอยู่ตามสวน ใต้พุ่มไม้ และในที่จอดรถ แมวจะรีบวิ่งมาหาเราด้วยความดีใจ. เพราะรู้ว่าพวกมันจะได้กินอาหารแล้ววันนี้. แมวพวกนี้ค่อนข้างจะผอมและ ไม่ยอมให้คนจับตัวง่ายๆนัก. เราดีใจที่แมวส่วนใหญ่ยอมให้เราจับตัว และไม่ทำร้ายเราด้วยการข่วน แมวคงรู้ว่าเราเป็นมิตรกับพวกเขานั่นเอง

Inflation has hit the prices of cat food. During good times, cryptos have been very useful and supportive for buying good quality cats food. In time of plenty, these cats would get extra wet food which they really liked a lot. From now on, both these cats and I would have to be more economical and probably these cats would have to eat more dry food! They would be quite disappointed as I had spoiled them in the past. I might have to learn to hunt and fish next year!!
