Week 26

My fellow Steemians

Three hooray's to the Steemit developers!!

This week was a breeze compared to all the questions I received over the last two weeks. It is amazing how quickly we all get used to doing something in a specific manner, even here on Steemit. Not to mention how irritable we get when things do go wrong and you cannot do things the familiar way.

Anyway, thank you for fixing the platform!

Steem For Ladies

As subscribers to the community and posts increase most of my time is still allocated to the community.

  1. Curation and verification of posts on my day of duty as well as filling in on the days of others
  2. Educating and monitoring 6 moderators
  3. Validating MOD verifications
  4. Verifying new members
  5. Booming posts submissions and community voting
  6. Taking care of community notifications and comments
  7. Writing of 2 community posts
  8. Monitoring and running of community contests
  9. Lending a helping hand to members of the community
  10. Approval of moderator contests

The community is doing well and shows growth each week. A huge thank you to all the moderators, subscribers, and contestants. Without you, this community would not have been a success.

General:

Lending a helping hand to my fellow Steemians is still the first priority on my list. It is so rewarding to see posts from Steemians I have supported improve and receive those “ample votes” as per one of the SEC topics this week.

This week, support happened mainly via WhatsApp.

Africa:
It is still a priority to support Steemians from Africa by giving advice, supporting posts, and commenting.

Communities:
I’ve assisted one community this week by giving advice.

Issues encountered:

1. Booming votes

Receiving a booming vote is a privilege and not a must. I want to warn Steemians not to jump from community to community just for booming votes. Very soon you will be marked for “booming hopping.”

I also want to ask curators not to give their votes on a post if there is already a comment that the post will be submitted for a booming vote. Not only does it look like the community cannot perform a job properly, but it is also a vote that could have gone to someone else.

2. Short posts

This week, I saw numerous posts short of 300 words or just on 300 words. If you want a decent vote, make your post count. It will take you 10 minutes to add another 50 words. You can do it!

See you next week!
