Week#3 Curation Report (April Session)| Finance & Technology | Quality Control Team| @steemcurator05
Hello steemians,
Our appointment was yesterday with the last day of the third week of a curation session that began in April, which lasted from April 14 to April 21, 2022, during which the work went very well within the Quality Control team thanks to the collective cooperation between its members, because the discussions were daily on our discord server to ensure the best choices and avoid errors and for that I thank them all for their professionalism thanks to the experience they have acquired over the days.
This week saw stability in the number of upvoted posts compared to last week, reaching 131 articles, compared to a decrease in the number of articles containing plagiarism to remain within 4 articles, and although this is a small number, it remains annoying to us since it is an undesirable practice within our Steemit.Inc ecosystem, so we intend to eliminate it by tracking it through our own means, so I urge users to stay away.
What remains striking is the large number of articles that have been skipped, which represents 136% compared to upvoted articles, it is the first time that we have reached this percentage, which we explain for several reasons that have been discussed in detail in the comments and suggestions of each curator, but before that we go over the most important statistics, we have divided them according to several criteria, so we wish you an interesting read.
The observations of our curators :

No Club : For curation, I prioritize accounts that are members of clubs, and I will change the curation scheme in the next period by giving a higher percentage of votes according to the clubs that are joined. This will trigger them to continuously improve their club status from time to time
Plagiarism : I am using https://plagiarismdetector.net/ to track plagiarism and so far during curation I have not found any plagiarism activity
Skipped Articles : In general content that meets upvote requirements but is skipped because:
-Do not join any of the clubs.
-Content does not match the theme of finance and technology.
-Has been curated 3 times for 7 days of curation.
-Using the Upvote bot

The quality of articles in our tag keeps galloping like an antelope, day by day. On this day, the quality dropped drastically as it becomes so hard to find outstanding articles in the tag. In addition, many users still indulge in plagiarism by copying from other sources on the Internet while some used the articles they have shared on other platforms before.
That said, the number of ignored articles today is about 110% of the curated articles, most of the common reasons are articles unfit for the tag, poor content, no club, and so on. We hereby encourage authors to give their best to create outstanding content.

As a general note, this week saw a drop in the level of articles written in our focus areas (Technology & Finance), which was below average overall. This is explained by the large number of articles that have been ignored and have exceeded the number of upvoted articles, since they have been ignored for several reasons, the most important of which is perhaps the style of writing adopted by many users and based on the inclusion of paragraphs with short sentences, a method they adopt so as not to fall into plagiarism, but it loses the methodology and the sequence of work in its ideas, I invite you to avoid this method which does not develop your technical skills in writing.
We also noticed that most of the articles were in the field of funding with a percentage of around 75%, almost the same percentage of articles written in English, with a balance in the articles between the three clubs (club5050,club75 and club100) to which users belong.

The number of users are increasing who are making quality posts with our tag. Today I curated two times for using voting mana properly. There are some posts which are skipped because of low quality or irrelevant topics and some authors are not following the club event. Usually I use the voting percentage based on the club's status. But this week, I focused on both quality and club status, and the voting percentage is distributed accordingly. However, I am hopeful that users will continue to create high-quality content related to our topics.

A fairly normal day of curation, following the same method as on past occasions and dedicating myself to reading all the possible posts within the labels that the team reviews.
The biggest variance I could notice this day was the amount of poor quality posts, I skipped a total of 64 posts, more than 20 than last week.
Most of them are publications that do not explain anything in particular or that only provide generic and purposeless explanations. With little or no quality.
I also didn't upvote 4 very good posts because users had already received at least 3 upvotes by the time I took my turn.
I was only able to observe a user who deserved his vote but did not comply with the club of the label that he used. Because of this I couldn't vote for him.
I voted for a total of 20 publications, mostly related to finances, most of them quite good, I decided to give a good percentage of votes to the best ones, many of these votes are for recurring users, of high quality who have been making an effort, I think that deserve to be recognized and i try to correspond in the best possible way.

On my curation day, I noticed that there are not enough high quality publications. Some posts are interesting, but there is a lack of explanation to make them high quality. Also, there are several users who post week by week, but few new users join this initiative.
Several posts that are of high quality, but do not comply with any club, as well as there are users who use bot and therefore are not eligible for an upvote.

During my curation today, I had to skip a lot of articles because they were not up to expectation and some were miss using their club status. Other articles were not even related to our area of interest such as the category of finance and technology while other publications were still new users with very low reputation.
I couldn't curate these new users' articles because it might be an alternate account that wants to seek only for up-votes and power down afterward. It's important that new users have to make themselves well known, followed, read, and voted by fellow Steemians before they can gain the trust of the curators. We emphasize this because of the high level of fake accounts being created on daily basis to seek upvotes and then power down afterward
I also noticed an improvement in quality publications as compared to last week. This indicates that users are improving on their articles on daily basis. I hope to continue seeing more quality articles just like today.
Note : The curator @fredquantum was not able to choose an article among the best articles for this week, so 6 posts will be chosen.

The 7 days start on Friday which is today. That's when April started and curation began on that day, and it has continuously been our starting day of a curation week till the moment.

I made this post on sunday. Being 17th.
But I was made to understand that I had already been voted 3 times as at then and my curation was removed.
Which was painful.
But now you say the curation starts from Friday, I think there was an error🙂.
It would be nice if you could look into this for me.

The counts are not ideally within the 7 days of a curation week rather the last 7 days are considered as to when the article was checked by the curator.
The curator might have skipped it for the reason you highlighted above. As such, when a new curator takes over the job, he might not go back to the previous days that have been catered for by another curator.
In my own opinion, I will advise you to utilize the steemworld.org tool to check your counts when making an article under a theme, this would put you on the safe side. I hope this helps to an extent. Thank you, @victoh78.

But If I may add just to clarify all doubt.
A new curation week(7 days) starts on Friday to Thursday right??
And not 7 days counting back from the day you made your post.
Meaning an individual can get curated Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday .
And also Saturday, Sunday and Monday
As this are two different curation week.
As April began on Friday, we negate Sunday - Saturday as the order of the days in a week as the calendar has it rather our curation week begins on Friday - Thursday (Counting forward), and users can get curated throughout those 7 days.
You will get it more confused this way. Simply put, the curation week for this month starts on Friday and ends on Thursday. Thank you.

When my vote was removed I wasn't notified as to why it was removed..
I tried reaching out by taging steemcurator but I wasn't given the time of day,
It would have felt so much better if I was made aware as to why such happened when it happened.

See ehh brother @victoh78, what we do in our team is that we curate articles in a Decentralized manna, that is why we can't focus only on Curating thesame people constantly
We have set our target to always curate a maximum of 3 articles per individual within 7-days. Take a look below 👇
All this individuals with 3X won't recieve an upvote from @steemcurator05 account again until one of their post get expired after 7-days before we can curate any of their active post again under our theme if we come across any
So in your case, you had already published 3 articles within 7-days and so luckily,all were curated because there were of high quality. That is why your next article couldn't be curated again. Until one of your Curated article get expired before any of my team member can curate your article again should incase any of us come across it. And we curate it if only it meets all the criterias and it's of high quality
Why did we set this rule? We set it because we want to be able to make sure every Author benefits from @steemcurator05 account rather than concentrating only on certain authors.
Again we brought this either because we have a target of not using steemcurator05 voting manna to go below 80% so that it could recharge quick before the next person takes over. So we always have a limited number of articles to curate each day

With the system at which we are working, I'm 100% sure every Author that published quality contents under our theme most have been receiving constant support from us in accordance to our curation rules.

But from what you have said it actually starts from 7 days going back.
That makes the reason why all the more understandable..
