Dining at Oishi Japanese Restaurant with my wife

My wife has been asking me how the famous ramen actually tastes, since here in our place in the Philippines there are only a few Japanese restaurants and she only goes to these places once in a while because the menus are quite expensive. My wife only tried the instant ramen noodles but the taste is far from the ramen that is served in ramen restaurants.

_{Oishii Japanese Retaurant}

While we are on our way back home from groceries we've seen Oishi Japanese restaurant which is situated just in front of a mall. So I invited my wife to have our lunch and to answer her curiosity about ramen. As we get inside the Oishii Restaurant, the place was so quiet. There are only 3 tables filled and only one table is with Japanese customers.

_Interior

The atmosphere of the restaurant is of course in Japanese motifs. A plastic small sakura tree is placed on the corner, a wooden table, and chairs and there are books on the wall. Like in Japan the staff are very welcoming and greeted us with Japanese gestures. Seems that I have flown back to Japan in just a blink. As we look at the menus, as expected it is pricey, but if you wanted to eat something, especially those foods that you've been longing to taste, then the price doesn't matter at all.

Among those Japanese menus, my wife chose the "set-b meal" that includes tanmen, chahan (fried rice), and gyoza (Japanese dumplings) it cost 360 pesos which is around 37 steem. While I opted to have the "spicy miso ramen" it cost 405 pesos or 41 steem in today's value. Also, we've ordered drinks that cost 80 pesos or 8 steem.

_{Tanmen Ramen}

Is there any difference in taste between the ramen served in Japan and the ramen served in a Japanese restaurant in the Philippines? Well, honestly there is almost no difference, the smell and the taste are still ramen. The meat is so tender and the noodles are firm. The soup is also good and not so spicy. It's a perfect 10 for me.

_{Chahan or fried rice}

The chahan or fried rice tastes ordinary. Seem that I can cook this at home. The spices, the meat and egg, and other ingredients can be found in our kitchen.

_Gyoza

Let's talk about the side dish which is the gyoza. Honestly. I still preferred the gyoza served in Japan, it is fresh and tastes a lot better than the gyoza served in this restaurant. I'm not saying that it tastes terrible, but it tastes differently. Still, it is meaty but the wrapper seems that it is not well done. Also, they are using ordinary soy sauce as their dip.

_Reciept

That was our first restaurant visit this year with my wife. It was a great experience especially since she got her first bowl of ramen. We will continue to visit different restaurants like Korean, Pakistani, and Indian restaurants here in our place and experience having their food even if we are not going to foreign places. We've paid a total of 1,117 pesos which is around 108 steem in today's value.
