One of the aspects of the holy Eid-al-Adha is the Eid prayer at the Eidgah. Our village has a very beautiful and traditional Eidgah. Where we pray Eid. So today I am going to write about our Eidgah and Eid prayers.
Two days ahead of Eid, Eidgah is cleaned, decorated, and prepared for Eid prayers. The youth of the village work as volunteers to prepare the Eidgah for prayers. A beautiful canopy of colored cloth, balloons of different colors, and many more are installed. On the morning of Eid, the mic and microphone are checked before prayer. And the Muslims of the village are called for prayers. I love the moment.
In the morning of Eid, semai bread and sweets are eaten after taking a good bath. This is the norm of our society. After wearing new clothes or Punjabi pajamas, applying perfume and Surma, they leave for the Eidgah. We gathered at the Eidgah before the prayer started. After that, the Imam discussed the rules and virtues of animal sacrifice according to the religious tradition and recited a sermon from the Holy Quran. We all listen to the sermon very attentively. It has many rewards.
Then the two rakat obligatory prayers of Eid are performed with the imam. After the prayer, money is collected from all those who participated in the prayer for the religious institutions of the village. After that, prayers are offered for the well-being of the country and the people of the country. At the end of the prayer, good deeds are exchanged with everyone, young and old. I love this moment.
After many days we meet and talk with many people. You can find each other. That awakens the social feeling in all.
