259 years old of my local city in Buzzard Hill ⛰️

in Steemit Travellast year

Yes... Buzzard 🦅

That big dark bird of prey that you can see at the top of an upper rock after crossing the white wall, although this name is due to a black slave that took revenge about sacrifice of his owner's horse and ended hanged with an Araguaney (national symbol tree), according to the legend from last century. I went there my teen cousin that never came here before, so we went to take the opportunity to attend a special cultural event organized by the local governor, who finally gave love to this historical place and restored it, partially of course for the sake of CBO's birthday.🎂

There was a programmed schedule for theatre acts with artists from the whole city, where I just felt to get transported back with a time machine by observing the colonial clothes of those characters that got ready to provide an amazing performance to the people in that moment.💃

Meanwhile others could also offer typical meals, drinks and handcrafted objects that shows their infinite talent through beautiful small stands with single tables. Let's say homemade wines, sweets, food... moreover of necklaces, hats and many other nice things you might be buy to bring to your house.🏡

This is not all in fact: if you happen to walk beyond until reaching the highest point, you'll be finding the ancient Fort denominated "El Zamuro" too that were built in order to protect the city against civil war at the beginning of 1900's. Over here you can enjoy spectacular views from city while you take a great selfie of yourself. 🤳

It's a pity to see all those ugly graffitis made by students from the high school that is happen to be located in front of the fort and they just came here to destroy the unique heritage we have from the independence process of our nation that happened in that period.🌪️

Of course I never thought to miss my occasion to get funny pictures of myself knocking someone in one of those plane doors. Regional government have done at least a good job by grabbing the responsibility of painting and restoring a part of the site before the special date of city's anniversary (except for cleaning up all those excessive bushes). 🌿

Felt so proud of my beloved uncle and his wife impersonating a pair of characters of that iconic novel "Doña Bárbara" from Rómulo Gallegos while they were promoting their exclusive wine made out of fruits. And of course I was happy to also get my photography with these other friends although I'm looking slightly wet because in that instant it was raining a bit. ☔

So, in final words~> ¡HAPPY BIRTHDAY N° 259 CBO! 🏙️ Thanks for reading.

It's fascinating to learn about the rich history and legends associated with the place you described. The story of the black slave seeking revenge for the sacrifice of his owner's horse and the symbolism of the Araguaney tree create a compelling narrative. It's wonderful to hear that the local governor has taken an interest in preserving and restoring this historical site, and even organized a special cultural event. Such initiatives help to bring attention and appreciation to the heritage of the area. It must have been a memorable experience for you and your teen cousin to witness this event and celebrate a special occasion. The combination of history, culture, and the beauty of the surroundings make it a truly unique and meaningful visit. Thank you for sharing this intriguing story with the Steemit community.

Yes. I don't think there's any other interesting history like this one related with the name of fort. My cousin is appearing with sky blue sweater in one of the pictures, she doesn't really like to appear in photographies but I always get at least one of her. 😁 I spent a lot of years without coming here because it was really abandoned by Mayors throughout the time, so insecurity is present by often here. How great to finally enjoy once again in this historical area thanks for such unusual initiative to respect our beloved City. Thanks for your valuable comment friend. I'll be keeping contact with you on this Blockchain. Regards ✨
